**Suggestions to Make Pets More Engaging and Useful**

Lately, we’ve earned so many new high quality pets from quest rewards and achievements. However, when you look around towns, how many people are actually running around with their pets? Here are some ideas to make pets more fun, useful, and engaging:

  1. Auto-Summon Option
It’s annoying to manually summon your pet every time you log in. Let us toggle pets on/off with a skill or setting, so they’re always ready when we want them.
  2. Pets with Utility
Right now, pets don’t do much. Why not let them carry our bags for extra storage or assist with professions? For example:
  • Beasts or critters could help with Skinning.
  • Dragons and mechanical pets could assist with Mining.
  • Water and flying pets could help with Fishing (imagine them casting extra fishing rods!).
  1. Mobile App Integration for Pet Battles
Some pets are hard to obtain or level up. A smartphone app could let us feed, fight, and level up our pets on the go. This would make pet battles more accessible and fun.
  2. Pet Customization and Equipment
Let us customize our pets further! Add equipment slots so we can decorate them with hats, costumes, or even fun weapon-like items (e.g., a crab with a tiny sword). This could be done through the barber shop or a new pet customization interface.
  3. Pets Matching Movement Speed with Visual Effects
When we use speed-boosting abilities like Cheetah Aspect, our pets should keep up with a cool flash effect or trail. This would make them feel more dynamic and visually impressive.

This version now includes the idea of the mobile app potentially attracting new players to WoW. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!

I was of the mind that this was going to be ridiculous, until I saw this bit.

I’m in.

I would LOVE a WoW pet phone app!

This would be nice, though there are addons like Petwalker that will do this for you. I’d rather they just never went poof. Pet speeds weren’t buffed with the advent of dragonriding, so they disappear when you zoom off, and going through portals tends to make them disappear. It’s really frustrating when you’ve put a costume on your pug, and it disappears because you flew across town or zoned into raid. To be honest, the Perky Pug costumes should really be toys like the falcosaur toys.

There’s at least one pet that acts like a cooking fire and one that acts like an anvil for blacksmithing. You can’t add too much ability to them though, because that would make people feel like they’re required, and they would WHINE

There should always be some hard to obtain pets. It gives them stories (“I had to do X, Y, AND Z to get this pet!”). It is also extremely easy to level pets - it just takes a little time. I don’t think there’s enough people that would use the app to justify the expense in making it.

As mentioned, there are already costumes and toys, though it would be great if there were more.

I’d just be happy if they kept up, period. Outside of some of the ones that are supposed to be slow, like the anvil pet.

Some good ideas here. I would particularly appreciate a mobile app that would allow me to do WQ pet battles from previous expansions. That would be fantastic. I would do more of them if they were on an app.

This would make pet WQ in the game obsolete. It would be absurdly easier and faster to do them on that app. Not a good thing.

I’m not worried. Making pet battling available on a mobile device isn’t just a few changes, it essentially would mean a major redesign and rewrite of how WoW functions for it to run on a phone.

Perhaps. But notice I specifically said ‘from previous expansions’. How many people actually go back to older content to do WQs? My guess would be not many. Giving us the option to do older content on an app would potentially engage more players in pet battles. Likewise, if we could do PvP battles on an app, I suspect a lot more people would do them.

Omg adding a mobile component to pets would be amazing. Lil Tamagotchis
