Suggestions on computer build

hm… i never tried that. there’s a setting in my monitor that sets the aspect ratio to “original” so a tv signal would be displayed at 16:9 with black bars on the side, but never did tried hooking up a cable box to it. i did hooked up a 16:9 laptop, and the ratio is reflected on the monitor with black bars on the side.

there’s also the other way around, but i’ve read that you need a TV that can accomodate for input lag. this one has a gaming optimizer with auto low latency mode:

but i have never tried it myself

I will look at that but forgive me I wasn’t clear, I only use a TV for netflix and my own videos I have no real use at this point for an actual “broadcasting service” so would not be requiring cable at all

Use 5JULY4HP to bring it down to $855

I would wait for next gen stuff but it all depends if you want to wait or get it alot sooner.

Be Very, VERY careful buying used GPUs. Crypto went belly up and a lot of mine farms are selling off their hardware (Graphics Cards) that have been running maxxed out non-stop for the past 2 years.

You might be a good deal or you might get a card that’s near death.

Bestbuy has EVGA RTX 3080 Xc3 ultra for $999. Which is closer to MSRP that was like 2 years ago and you prob will need a better PSU as well. Also card length comes up and will it fit in your case.

As for ultra wide monitors that have TV option I haven’t seen any. If you want to use a TV for PC gaming the LG C1 is supposed to be really good but still has chance of burn in though from reviews I read I was thinking of even getting one but I had a 50" TV in my room before and it was too big. lol

If you are moving overseas you will prob need a different plug now and not to mention chance at screen getting damaged so maybe better to buy one once you are settled in?

Thanks.

That’s the intention (To buy once settled.)

The plug is fine as when I bought the PSU I made sure it was compatible for both 110/220 and it’s 600 I believe.

Should I bother getting a card primarily for wow that has ray tracing? Or don’t worry about it. Still figuring that although currently 1080p is fine I may as well future proof a bit and get some 1440 p going .

Thoughts ?>

it’s what bugs me to get my 6600xt.

it is not that noticeable actually… but it’s pretty cool when you do notice it

Ray tracing in WoW isn’t worth it. It only works for the shadows.

1440 is the sweet spot right now. I don’t think full on 4k gaming is worth it… yet. You just don’t get the benefits of the extra pixels sitting that close to the monitor. Getting 21:9 aspect ratio is the new “it” factor right now.
