Suggestions for Implementation for Self-Found

Since there has been almost no information on implementation of this mode I will just post the community “assumptions”

  1. No trading/mail/AH until level 60
  2. Will use existing HC servers

A few issues I have with these things. The main advantage of SF is it is theoretically a bot free server. With no way to trade there is no way for a gold seller to sell gold and thus no reason to bot farm on that server. However by removing this restriction at 60 or using the existing HC servers doesn’t solve this issue at all.

What I would like to see instead

  1. No trading/AH EVER not even at 60
  2. Mail at 60 but only to other 60’s on your account
  3. Add TBC enchanting vellums so you can trade enchants between your own characters
  4. Add new servers that are only SF mode and not intermingled with regular HC servers.

Instead of all that I think Blizz should just have it say “Party of One!” when someone hovers over your Soul of Iron buff.

If they are implementing this option for play on the existing servers, there should be no distinction by level. Someone chooses to activate that option, there is no AH/mail/trading at all ever.

You can “turn off” the option but can never reactivate it on that character. Simple. Easy. Direct to the point of self found. No takebacks, reserves or carve outs.

Do that, Blizzard!

This is exactly what they are doing

Agree! Definitively to point 1,2 and 4.

They could make the server like the current HC servers where you can freely move to a non-HC server, but not back.
So you could freely move from Self Found server to non-SF server, but never back.

Main reason I added #3 is to prevent only one character on your account being able to raid. Essentially your enchanter would be the only character that could have enchantments.

So every raid character would be Engineering/Enchanting. With Vellums you could at least mail enchants to yourself.

We are getting that option with the addition of SF. You can turn off the buff *I assume at an NPC) but you cannot turn it back on if you do that.
