Suggestion: Unlock Legion weapon Artifacts for transmog purposes in BFA

Hello, I am writing this because I have a suggestion for Legion artifact transmog appearances for the transmogrifier vendor. I want to know if it is possible for Blizz to let you go into your transmog vendor of choice where you transmog you’re gear, etc. And see if you can be able to purchase “locked” Legion artifacts. I just thought this might be an idea for returning players who never got to experience Legion who want to have the artifacts for transmog purposes. Like let us unlock them for certain achievements or let us buy them with gold. Etc.

I took a break from WoW in Legion due to working. And I didn’t have time to unlock most of my artifacts. Some of the current gear for example, my Demon Hunter. I don’t have many artifact transmog for it. I want to be able to look nice for my transmog preference. If that makes sense. I hope this sounds like a good idea. And please don’t judge my opinion. This is just for anyone who is interested in transmog. Like my self. I’m hoping this sounds like a good idea. I would like my Glaives to look pretty neat. Or vice verse to have a better gameplay experience. I don’t want anyone to think I’m complaining like I’m one of those guys who got screwed out of Legion. I didn’t. I just decided to take a break. I was hoping Blizzard would look into this because players like my dad looked really interested in the whole artifact thing. Because he thought they looked cool but he worked all the time and didn’t get a chance to play it, etc. Thank you, I hope you all have a nice day/night, etc.

Every Legion Artifact except the Base Mage Tower Skin can still be unlocked. If you do not already have the base Mage Tower skin you can not use the other Mage Tower skins. They have already said the Mage Tower and it’s skins are not going to be made available again.

So Im guessing these “Base Mage Tower Skins” Or what ever you call them, if you don’t have them you wont be able to unlock anything ever again right? If that makes sense or will never get a Legion artifact ever. Especially if you want to use them for transmog? Bummer. Oh well. :frowning: What is a Base Mage Tower Skin if I may ask anyway? This is the first time me hearing about it. Thanks for the information.

Ok. Let me try to simplify this as best possible.

For every Artifact Weapon, there are 6 base skins available and each of those skins has 3 additional tints available to them - giving you a total of 24 possible skins / tints for transmog for each Artifact Weapon.

The base skins and tints are unlocked by doing various things in game:

Base Skins:
1 - Pick up your Artifact Weapon
2 - Complete your Order Hall Campaign
3 - Complete the Balance of Power Questline
4 - PvP - in Legion it was Prestige Level 2 - now it’s Honor Level 10 - and a quest you are given at that time
5 - Complete the Mage Tower Challenge for your Specialization
6 - Find the Hidden Artifact Appearance

Each of the Above - except #5 - Complete the Mage Tower Challenge for your Specialization - can still be unlocked in game.

Each of the Above has 3 additional Tints that are unlocked:
1a. Recover a Pillar of Creation
1b. Recover Light’s Heart
1c. Complete the first major component of the Order Hall Campaign
2a. Unlock Every Artifact Trait (No additional requirement now after unlocking the base skin)
2b. Unlock the Full History of your Artifact (No additional requirement now after unlocking the base skin)
2c. Earn the This Side Up Achievement
3a. Earn the Unleashed Monstrosities Achievement
3b. Complete 1 Mythic Plus 15 Dungeon on time (after unlocking the base skin)
3c. Earn the Glory of the Legion Hero Achievement
4a. Earn Honor Level 30
4b. Earn Honor Level 50
4c. Earn Honor Level 80
5a. Defeat Heroic Kil’jaeden (after unlocking the base skin)
5b. Win 10 Rated Battlegrounds (after unlocking the base skin)
5c. Complete 10 different Legion Dungeons (after unlocking the base skin)
6a. Complete a total of 30 Legion Dungeons (after unlocking the base skin)
6b. Complete 200 World Quests (after unlocking the base skin)
6c. Kill 1,000 enemy players (after unlocking the base skin)

All of the above Tints are still obtainable in game - if you completed the Mage Tower Challenge for your Specialization prior to its removal at the end of Legion. If you did not complete the Mage Tower Challenge, then none of the 3 Mage Tower tints (#5a, #5b, and #5c) will be available for unlock. Worst case scenario - you skipped Legion - you can still unlock 20 of the 24 possible transmogs for each of your Artifact Weapons.

I hope this helps.
