Hey Blizzard team and fellow adventurers,
With all the recent talk (and dreams!) about player housing, I wanted to throw a couple of ideas into the mix—fun features that could make our future homes in Azeroth feel more alive, personal, and interactive:
1. Trading Post Mannequins – Transmog Display + Training Dummy Combo
Imagine placing a mannequin in your home that you can:
- Equip with any transmog set you’ve collected
- Use as a training dummy to practice your rotation or test talents
It’s the perfect blend of style and function! Not only would it let us proudly display our favorite looks, but it would also serve a real gameplay purpose—something that feels right at home in a customizable space.
2. Customizable In-Home Library
A library shelf or bookcase item where you can collect and store any readable books you’ve found across Azeroth. Whether it’s lore tomes, journals, or joke items—you choose what goes on your shelf.
Personally, I’d be using mine to build a proud collection of Steamy Romance Novels, but the idea is that players can curate their shelves however they like. It would be a fantastic way to celebrate WoW’s vast (and often hilarious) written content and give us another reason to go treasure hunting in the world.
I think features like these would add a ton of character and replay value to player housing. I’d love to see more collectible and interactive items like this that reflect our adventures (and eccentricities) across the world.
Anyone else into this kind of thing?
Thanks for reading!

I know they’re doing books and bookshelves. But I like the addition of this to it!
Good idea! We’ve been asking for all of the books in one place and we can finally have that if they do this.

I want a reason to use all my old world reagents, I want all the professions from every expansion to matter and the reagents we’ve hoarded over the DECADES to matter again.
Imagine spending 20 years building a world and not using it to its full potential? PH offers the solution to that; make the assets cost old world reagents.
In BC I remember seeing imbued netherweave cloth and thinking I’d love curtains made out of it.
In LK I remember thinking a frozen orb would look pretty sitting on a shelf next to a cardinal ruby.
How many times have you seen the icon for a reagent in game and wondered how it’d look if it were an asset you could sit on a shelf? Those large venom sacs would look cool suspended in a jar of mysterious fluid on my Alchemist’s dresser. That righteous orb icon makes me think it’d glow and be used to give ambient light, like a night light on my nightstand.
I wanna use pearls to make string bead curtains.
I wanna use a ton of different gems to make a stained glass window.
I wanna use my alchemy or enchanting skill to infuse chemicals and ench essences or lava cores to make a lava lamp.
Let me use JC to make a disco ball made of Azerothian diamonds.
Let me make little statues of bronze bars with moss agate eyes, etc.
Let me hang dried peacebloom and talandra’s roses from my ceiling.
Let me use my 3k copper bars on making a copper floor/walled room that’s shiny.
All I want is Blizz to go absolutely WILD with the old-world crafting reagents.
