And then keep the ability to buy Trading Post items for tenders when they come back into rotation/season. Other games like FFXIV do something similar to this.
I’m so tired of waiting around for items to come back into rotation, just let me buy them and use them now, even if it is for real money. The FOMO isn’t working on me, I’d rather just stop playing than waiting around to acquire items. Let me give you my money, Blizzard.
You won’t even use all the things on the trading post. Why would you want to pay real money just to have it waste away in your collections tab? Just get the stuff you’ll actually use with tender or save it if you wont use it for a month that has a lot of good stuff in it. The moment you allow blizzard to get away with selling tp stuff for money they’ll take full advantage of you. Don’t ruin it for everyone because you have no patience to just wait.

I don’t even want everything from the Trading Post, just one specific thing: the magical girl set. I am tired of waiting around for it to maybe come back. I genuinely got sick of waiting and started playing other games who don’t make me wait to be able to buy the specific cosmetic items I actually want and gave them my money instead.
If cosmetic items in this game are supposed to be optional things where you only get the specific ones you want, it makes no sense to make people wait around for a year or more to maybe be able to get them. I am literally doing exactly what you’re saying: only wanting specific items and waiting around to get them, and it is a terrible system.

I care a lot about character customization in video games, that’s what pulled me into WoW in the first place.
If there’s arbitrary time gates to being able to customize my character, I’ll just play something else where that doesn’t exist.
I am waiting for the opposite. A store item that was supposed to come to the trading post. Either way let people get the items. Put them in the trading post every so often and have them on the store.
I genuinely don’t care how we acquire them, real money, tenders, whatever. It just sucks having to wait around for the only Trading Post or store item you actually want. It seems like a bad business practice to tell people “come back later and give us your money instead of right now when you’re actually interested in the game”, because it’s very likely I will just go play something else and forget about coming back to give them my money because I’m interested in another game now and not even thinking about or caring about WoW anymore. It just seems silly and it seems like they’re missing out on potential sales with stupid time gating.
This same issue exists in OW2, too, and is also why I quit that game. I got tired of waiting around to see if the cosmetic items I wanted would become available again for me to actually give them my money to buy them, the shop system there sucks too. Whoever at Blizzard thinks it’s a good idea to time gate people giving you their money for cosmetics is just dumb.
It is ok if you can’t get every last thing you want in a month. I won’t be able to get all the sets/weapons from Nov’s trading post and I’m fine with it.
Save for what you really want, instead of just blanket buying everything.
I’ve been saving for the one and only thing I want for like a year now. I haven’t been buying anything.

I think it’s a bad principle to be able to straight up buy (unique ) TP items. But I would willingly participate if we could cause there’s some mogs I wasn’t here for and I really want like the swimsuit.
I think as long as they keep the ability to buy them with tenders when they are in season, letting people buy them with real money when they’re out of season would be a good option. It’s just basically paying for the convenience of not having to wait for them to come back around again if you really want them right away. And most people play this game in cycles, so I think it would fit the way people play this game better.

Tmog may not be the true end game but it is certainly the best carrot-on-a-stick that Blizzard has ever found. OP, they aren’t going to change it to keep you around because it is keeping more people around the way it is.
Look at all the people already casting aside their dignity to plan for a recolored pirate mog in a game mode they did nothing but complain about the last time.
