Give the very small minority who complain about boxing a no boxing server.
No changes to code need to happen…just a server that you all can congregate on that doesnt allow boxing, kinda like an RP server.

What a load of bologna. I don’t even farm for ores or herbs there and I see the yellow dots on my screen so many times I’ve lost count over the last few days.
I play on the most active Horde server in the entire game, so it’s a you issue if you can’t find any nodes to pluck or mine.
You issue, NOTHING else… PERIOD.

how do you tell the difference between a multiboxer and lets say 4 friends living in an apartment together all using the same internet connection?

If you read the rest of the algorithm: The “course” filter would be by IP address. That list would further be filtered by zone or shard to get a shorter list, finally, the input can be sampled to check for extreme consistency for the final list. These folks are booted over to the “boxer” shard. In the extreme edge case where someone got over there by somehow exactly following someone and mimicking their inputs within a fraction of a second for several minutes (basically impossible), that shard can be checked periodically for a lack of consistency, and automatically move people back.
Your idea could be defeated by a .05 second delay. and good gravy if you think we have lag fests now, wait until we start scanning each and every connection for that… lol

uh huh…so my wife and I are on the same IP…but we AINT boxing.
this STUPID idea would force those like us onto these boxing shards.
Sorry but the real solution is for a single NO BOXING server to be made for you minority of players who are vocal about it so you have a server of your own.
My guess is that it’ll be the deadest server in the entire game.

These threads exist because of the simple fact that you can say the sky is blue today and a small minority will absolutely disagree with that statement and find any technicality about water vapor and refracted light waves to argue against the sky being blue.
there will ALWAYS be those who scream about any topic and disagree.
