Suggestion: Invasion loot should be SPEC specific

nothing better than wasting half an hour doing quests to get a mistweaver offhand when im a brewmaster monk. Thanks blizzard.

What baffles me is that they specifically created Loot Specialisation to stop these problems in the past because it was a major problem for players who wanted loot on there main spec or to gear off specs but were locked out of them due to loot.

Now they’ve backtracked it seems to the randomness in the hopes to increase player time spent without thinking of ‘eventually they’re going to quit over it’

So you can get heroic raid geared in 2 weeks without raiding. Perhaps the better idea would be for them to stop giving away such high ilvl items so people would stop complaining.

150% agree, so irritating. I open a bug report every time this happens to me, because it’s b.s. they would have a system specifically in place to prevent this and it isn’t honored.

If you are looking for a particular piece of gear or weapon, do a Mythic+ or Raid.

Thing is we did have this in place in TBC and WotLK it was called Currency Vendors, Valor Vendors specifically that allowed people who were screwed over by this randomness during raid or pvp content to least save up and eventually earn your proper loot spec item or something close to it that might be 1 or 2 points lower then the current ones then later they started to remove these and added in Loot Specialisation to fix the gap and now they’re backtracking to the randomness in the past to keep player time up but they didn’t compensate the Currency Vendors that made the old plan actually work.

i don’t agree. there should always be some kind of catch up mechanic. i played in TBC and Wrath (the catch up mechanics started imo in wrath) and i remember what a chore getting a guildie into a secondary role, or worse, a new class, was. catch up mechanics should be around, but if they’re going to put them in, they should be useful.

tried that, the Bug report people chewed me out for being angry at a ‘working’ system

we don’t all have the luxuary of getting carried on alts when we need some gear.

I never thought i’d miss the JP and Valor vendors. but it’s happened.

Who said anything about being carried? What’s wrong with knowing your class and pulling your own weight?

I know :frowning: like out of all the things they’re copying FF14 with lately why not the currency vendors? cause they got them over there too if RNG screwed you over and you can at least earn alt class ones while your at it there too.

“LINK AOTC AND HAVE 370+ FOR THIS REG ULDIR AND GEARSCORECOUGHRAIDER IO 50000+ OR DONT APPLY”

So maybe, instead of giving out gear like it’s candy we can add back in the vendors that everyone is begging for. Let’s see we get heroic raid gear 7+ plus times a week now but instead lets get enough currency to buy 1 heroic piece a month.

I’m sure everyone will be down for this right?

Why are you applying for those groups?

Who said anything like that? we’re talking specifically about Bad Luck Protection least thats what im talking about.

This right here is the core issue with a lot of the decisions the team has made, recently.
Reforging, valor points, honor vendors, using said valor to upgrade your gear instead of praying for a TF, certain abilities that are no longer around to shore up class weaknesses

So many things were removed, and we now suffer the consequences of their removal, yet for some reason, they are too stubborn to simply walk things back, instead we have to reinvent the wheel to fix a broken wagon, instead of just using the older spare wheel.

World content has always operated under the guise of this class-specificity.
Loot spec and spec specific loot was added into the game as a mandatory element for when Personal loot became the norm, and eventually the only option.
Its there for content that is very limited in how you receive or can receive the gear.

World content has always worked this way, but should it?
In my opinion, world content already gives WAY too much player power considering its content that is the epitome of trivial.

With that in mind, this situation presents less gear over all for a given spec, and that is a good thing in my mind, but obviously there would be better ways to deal with this.

Either way, switching specs constantly to manipulate world gear is not something they seem to want to promote, and especially with titanforging would result in a situation where the player feels they have no access to off spec gear because the main spec gear can always upgrade.

I think its best if the player respect that and recognize that this much gear from world quest is already asking for too much.
Gearing shouldn’t be something summarized by:

There was a time that spending a “half an hour” in a world content meant traveling to the zone you wanted to be in.
But it seems that the reward structures have completely out-valued the purpose of the systems, as if anything you do in a video game is considered a “waste” of a half hour of your day then we have FAR bigger problems.

I was completely exaggerating because I find this topic ridiculous.

My point is that they give us access to essentially 28 heroic raid level loot pieces a month for doing almost nothing but people still complain that the loot pool isnt spec restricted.

That is the same amount you get if you were to raid heroic Uldir weekly.

Everyone is gearing through welfare epics and complaining that they didn’t get “steak”.

edit: the 28 pieces does not include emissary, warfront, or world boss loot. The number is really much higher.

Everything should be spec specific. But it’s not, nothing is except stuff you get from raids and dungeons.

those are the groups that aren’t failing basic mechanics such as “fire bad”.

i made this thread to suggest that loot from Invasions and other non-instanced random sources (specifically, Emissary, Invasion, Weekly, Islands, etc) be based on loot spec, not class.

and im suggesting that this is a trash decision that should be changed.

And should be heavily expanded upon.

Unrelated to the discussion at hand, feel free to make your own topic for this suggestion.

no

Better for who? i can play 30-45 min and get something i literally do not even want, and thats “better”? for who? Activisions next player retention Quarterly investor call? thats a load of Hooey man.

LOOT SPEC EXISTS IN GAME. everything you say past this point is completely irrellevant. you’re basing your whole post on somehting that doesnt relate to the topic at hand. Behold everyone, a greenposter TROLLING. or some other type of posting i cant name on a strongly moderated forum.

i think you need to go make your own suggestion thread instead of hijacking mine from “loot should be based on spec” to " omg too much loot catering to casuals omg"

GoGo Rose tinted Glasses. go look at my cheezes, ive been around since TBC. i get the whole “the game used to be HARD Man, quit your QQ”. but TBH if thats how you feel, Quit. or wait for VanillaRemake. in either case, you’re still derailing my thread.

ad nauseam 0/10 effort badtroll. very obviously a huge difference between “i want to play with competent people” and “i want to be carried”
