Post counts should not be shown, as they do not add anything to a discussion and, in fact, deter from it. Just as the downvotes were removed, because it did not encourage discussion, the same can be said for post count.
Too many times we see toxicity towards people who get dismissed and belittled because of low post count or no post count. And then we also see the opposite of insults and stereotyping of those with high post counts.
It does not help create conversation. It’s used as a tool to dismiss, belittle, insult and troll.
At the very least, make it part of hidden profiles. But I am of the opinion that across the board, post counts should not show. That way, people can’t troll with, “Low post count alt, you’re not worth it” type of comments.
