Suggestion: Flight Master's Whistle Toy - Clarified

Remove it as an item and instead make it usable as an account-bound content/level-restricted toy.

Apparently there is somehow confusion that this would be used at level 1. No. That’s why I said “content/level-restricted toy”. This would just turn the Legion and BfA whistles into toys.

That’s actually not a bad idea, I think that would be amazing. The only requirements I would have people have is:

  1. Must be lvl 21+ (Trials)
  2. Must do a decent quest chain to achieve.
  3. Can be purchased off of a heirloom vendor thereafter.

What are your thoughts on that?

Or or, hang with me folks…you do the work to unlock it back in Legion.

You now get it simply by being at least 110 and getting it from Khadgar, not sure how much “work” you are expecting out of your remark.

It even auto adjusts to argus when you get there, and all BfA areas at 120.

Actually not the worst idea, but think Sin explained it well to.

My comment was for making it for lowbies 21+ that are new to the game, or returning to the game that don’t have Legion. This whistle could be used in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, up to Northrend, Outland, etc…

Oh yeah they should totally add use for old areas. That would actually be great.

Agreed fam, 100%. It could benefit a lot of lowbies and help a lot of new players that are returning to the game. We need to think of them,

Id rather not. Theres already enough convenience in this game. You can mount at level 1…what more do you want?

You do have to earn rep on your first character to Argus to unlock it for all your other characters.

I’d hardly call the cheufer ‘mounting at level 1’. It’s not as fast as basic riding and it can only be gotten by someone who got a lot of heirlooms.

That makes sense but also makes the idea of turning it into a Toy even better as you clearly have earned the right to have it by then. It would be nice to save the bag space.

Hearthstones would make good toys too since we already have more than a few toy versions of the regular hearthstone.

i’d like the option to make use of it in earlier content.

perhaps tie it to the Loremaster achievements. so, for example, having Loremaster Outland, would let me use it in outland, and Loremaster Northrend would allow its use in Northrend, etc

this makes it a reward for doing the questing experience in these zones, so as to make it easier going through them when either doing old content or leveling new characters.

I can live with that.

Simple, yet elegant, solution. Sounds like a great idea.

This is what I was thinking. Tying it to the Loremaster achievements (maybe even the Exploration achievements as well) seems like a good idea.

That way you’ve experienced all the content those areas have to offer, so making your return trips to those areas easier should be a perk.

Only thing is they really need to give us the flight path books for other zones.

You think? The suggestion is to make the Legion and BfA ones toys, hence the whole “content/level-restricted toy”.

What’s wrong with quality-of-life features?

I’d personally make the toy become usable in a continent once you hit max level in that zone:

  • Level 60 for Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor
  • Level 80 for both Outland and Northrend
  • Level 90 for Cataclysm zones and Pandaria
  • Level 100 for Draenor
  • Level 110 for Broken Isles and Argus
  • Level 120 for Kul Tiras and Zuldazar

Love this idea.

This one, on the other hand, is a bit too much of a handout.
