I hope this is the right place to post this, I wasn’t sure c:
I know several people, myself included, who have felt frustrated because our avatars won’t update no matter how many times we log in or out or how many times we change our outfits. Then there are people who’s avatar changes twice in one day. It’s very inconsistent.
I do believe the forum is run by a third party, so I’m not sure if Blizzard has the capability of adding a button to the forums for it.
However, if they were to add it to the armory, they wouldn’t have to go through another person.
On PSN Profiles, you can update your profile, prompting the system to pull the most recent data for your account. If Blizzard were to add something like that to the Armory, it could trigger the system to update the image which would, hopefully, update the forum avatar.
I don’t know how or why but my avatar has been shirtless for a few days and I hate it. My character very much is wearing armor, a shirt, and a tabard!
So, I ask you guys, is this something you’d be interested in? Is this something that’s possible? If you can, please pass this along to someone who might be able to answer/solve this.

Me too! I’ve been shirtless for like a week and it sucks D: I really like my mog and I wish others could see it, too.

Nah this option would cost an entire Plunderstorm hotfix quota. Too much to ask for.
I just had an idea, though slightly unrelated to your OP. How about a transmog app for phones?
You could pull up any of your current characters in the app and try outfits just like the transmogrifier in game, and you would be able to save them for use in game when you log in.
What a way to pass the time on the train in the morning. Perhaps you could also share via text with friends, twitter, email, etc.
