Personally, I never have an issue or go AFK anywhere, except the open world, and the occasional solo follower dungeon. But here is my thought. I hope you read it before you respond.
Automate Votes to remove players from a group. If the player fails to hit a button, or physically move their character in ANY Dungeon (not counting Raids or BGs cause there is downtime) after 60 seconds, they are automatically removed from the group. However, the group would get a failsafe that if they are in a party with someone in that Dungeon, the system would ask the Yes or No question first. So your friends would not get booted, especially when it is 3+ people in a party playing together.
Griefers can be reported and bad players blocked. I think I’ve used this system 4 times in as many years, so as I said, this is not something that affects me. Unless some DPS is being a bozo and chain pulling and getting killed, they are of little consequence. This could help insure people are being removed or leaving on their own for the right reasons. Again… just a thought. Not a demand. Not a requirement. Has no effect on me. Just something rolling around in my head.
My issue with this is that players are often vote-kicked for reasons other than being AFK. Like dungeon sabotage, hostile communication, or having an extraordinarily ugly transmog.
Usually if someone afks in my groups, they at least announce it, say “brb 1 min” or something, and they /follow somebody else in the group so we can continue as 4 and just wait at the next boss or whatever.
I’ve rarely had people get kicked for afking if they at least announce it first, most players seem chill.
Idk if that’d work in a timed M+ though lol, that’s under different circumstances. Being timed and all.
It cracks me up when people have to split up their responses. It is possible to be concise, address each concern, and not take up a whole page Let me show you:
You read, you stopped, you got triggered, then made a broken out meme retort. Kudos!
If you were going for intelligent and charismatic, you failed before you even tried. Go back to coping in the corner instead of trying to interact with real people; your fragile ego and lack of self-esteem clearly can’t handle reality.
hell, to the no. blizzard already implemented a sh*tty Vote kick system that is abused to hell. I don’t trust them to implement an Ai powered AFK vote kick check system and have it actually work/not be exploited somehow. there is literally no need for this with the vote kick system in place. if someone is afk for a considerable amount of time, you vote kick, done deal. this would be a huge waste of dev resources.
