I can’t stand politics…especially when Im Canadian and can’t give a hoot aboot american politics.
Please add an official political chat for all these people that are taking over trade chat with constant 24/7 political arguments.
I don’t want to have to leave trade chat on every character and server to get away from all the political talk. The game needs an official political channel for these people.
No… This wouldn’t even work because people can still do /1, /2, /3, /4 to pretty much ask about Thunderfury or Invisible.
Even if they did it would still infest trade chat since people have always used that as a general chat across all the cities. All it takes is one person who wants to start a flame war to post “orange man bad” and the next 2 hours of chat is politics because people can’t help themselves.
There’s already 4 channels and people just use trade for everything. Adding a 5th wouldn’t likely change anything.
Blizzard is an indie company, they don’t have enough budget to hire someone to moderate a chat channel, adding more channel won’t fix anything.
That’s not how it works.
All you have to do is say a trigger word and any chat will devolve into a inane political discussion

But since its implied; due to the existance of /5 political, that its totally fine to bring up regional issues in a multi-regional platform. I’ll go take it to /2 trade.
Maybe that will encourage others to go to /5 political and talk about how the democrats ruined new zealand politics.

I don’t think this will fly.
Do this and you will justify politics as being 100% acceptable in any chat. People don’t use the ones that exist in the manor they are intended.
I like the idea. I think you would need to be able to report for politics outside that channel with the punishment of being muted in the offended channel for increasing lengths of time.
I’m one of those who will literally do that if I’m bored enough for the lols.
People are too easily set off these days, so, might as well abuse it. It’s why anyone does it really.
But if you take politics out of trade, you’re just left with carry spam, gold selling, and casual racism.

American politics definitionally need a hard boot in the behind. 
But to answer your question, i don’t think this would stop people using trade chat to talk about politics. If anything, it gives them more reason to talk about politics in-game.
