Suggesting Vault Changes

Had an idea about vault loot which didnt seem too outlandish to me to implement. Even the devs seem to call the vault a weekly disappointment.

Anyway, heres the idea:

Make all raid loot be available for sale for 12 coins of sadness. Make these pieces be upgradeable from Raid Finder 1 to Mythic 6 like it worked with loot we aquired with bronze bullion in DF S4.

I think this doesnt add player power to anyone who isnt already doing the content. To aquire a single piece people would need to not get a vault upgrade for 2 weeks and this helps people get those last 1-2 pieces to be fully BIS.

Thanks for reading.

Onthe note of devs calling the vault a weekly dissapointment.

I’ve been running delves weekly among world events and quests and not once has my vault reult been dissapointing.

The only time it has been is when I havent’ fisnihed out the delves row but that’s only happedned twice and was of my own doing.

Riad loot I do feel should be on some sort of a token level.

But for delves, I feel the vault is fine and for players such as myself it doesn’t make me feel that I have to push myself into mythics or raiding and now with delves, gives a great reason to work on season 1 stuff and actually feel like there is decent progess for those that don’t want to raid or do mythics.

If that means capping item level between 611 and 619, that feels good to me without having to jump through hoops not remotely interested in jumping though.

I don’t think fully deterministic gearing will ever be a thing, frankly. Not for stuff that players would actually care about, anyway. It seems like we’ll be getting limited options in this regard from now on with the final season of each expansion (or at least, it’s happened with the last two), but that’s probably the most we can hope for.

I am 621 on my main and I need a ring, 2 trinkets, and a neck at heroic level to progress. I am literally stuck and have been for weeks. What is in my vault? Almost exactly what I got last week, including the ring I actually took last week. It would be nice if there was a way to actually work towards what I want out of it instead of me just repeating this. I have had very few vaults since the raid came out that were actually anything more than vaults of disappointment. They took pvp out because players couldn’t progress from rng, you don’t say. Us raiders are tired of not making progress as well. I even do the delves on the off chance anything slightly useful may be there. At some point I will stop playing because the vault is the stupidest pos they have come up with and they need to roll back the rng and let us work towards what we want. Not getting needed items until the final weeks before the season is over literally every tier has gotten super old at this point. Back in cata you could actually save up valor points and buy everything you were not lucky enough to get. I am not sure what their issue is with allowing raider to do that every season since they have proved with the last season of the past 2 expansions that they were able to create a currency for raiders to do exactly that. Maybe they could expand it to include dungeon items because this is bs that I don’t have my bis trinkets at this point. Ive not even seen them.

I do delves but my main is stuck on explorer chest piece, which I find annoying when the vault offers me yet another 2 trinkets and a slightly better weapon.

And taking the coins only gets me stones, which is not terrible but useless towards dealing with the chest piece issue.

So having some options would be nice.

If the chest piece is really driving you crazy, you could take the tokens, exchange for runed crests and have a 619 piece crafted. Then, when you eventually get a drop, you’ll be able to upgrade it to 619 crest-free. I did that a few times with the free runed crests you get from renown.

Me too, the BoP mats come pretty easy and most of the items i have had made were like 20k or so, it’s a drop in the ocean really just to fill out that troublesome gear slot while you wait for something to drop.

Appreciate the suggestion but I have given up on crafting. The changes they made in TWW have put me from having a crafter for every profession to mostly ignoring it all.

I only have limited time to play. Spending a week to try to gain a couple of levels in a craft or chasing down gold and mats and then finding someone isn’t fun.

I’m getting a strange sense of dejavu

As opposed to what… Dragonflight where if you missed a week you were sol?

Delete the vault.

I don’t like it. It’s weird. And it smells.

Another week, another awful vault. I spent over 15 hours this week pugging 10 keys. I have literally 0 loot to show for it. Now, i feel like whats the point? Grind another 14-20 hours to once again get nothing but garbage? It is so unrewarding.

I never thought i would say this but pve gearing at this point needs to be like pvp. Kill bosses get currency. Spend currency on loot. Without this, there are sometimes weeks, if not months that players can go without any meaningful upgrades.

Vault is a nice bonus for loot if you have other avenues of targeting what you want. Why doesnt Mythic track gear actually drop in 10+ keys? As a dps i have to sti for hours just to get a grou which more often than not will brick the key. Having spent so many hours just unlocking the vault slots is frustrating enough. Receiving nothing but trash for all your work is just insulting.

It’s a bad idea and won’t ever happen.

Because that’s the trade off you get for having the ability to spam multiple keys.

Thats the trade off for being able to farm crests.

And that’s the trade off for getting gear and crests even if you fail.

That’s a personal issue. I don’t have any issues pugging. Usually takes ten minutes max to get in a key.

The only Vault Change they need to make is that each row and column is independent.

If you do all the raids, all the delves, all the dungeons, you can get up to three items each week. But picking an item eliminates that row and column.

Rofl no lol

That was trivial in comparison, especially as I am not in a rush.

At least the crafting weeklies were doable, so I could have some progression. Now? Totally stalled, unless all I do that week is try to raise one toon’s profession a fraction.

Patron orders are so not worth the hassle and expense.

I feel like this always is based on trying to get a specific trinket because gearing out the other 14 slots is very fast and easy, especially with crafted gear being so strong.

Keep in mind, that the “mythic track” gear in prior expansions required lower difficulty completion too. In Dragonflight I think it was running an 18 key (equivalent to an 8 now). In Shadowlands I think it was running a 15 key (roughly equivalent to a 5 now).

They moved the mythic track gear to requiring completion of a level that USED to just be a milestone beyond gearing - getting your portal. Something you only needed to do once in the season. Got your 20 done for a dungeon? Congratulations, now you can rest easy and go back to just doing 15’s for gearing.

The new breakpoints present a serious jump in difficulty for most players in terms of what they must shoot for on a weekly basis, taking the old “peak,” once a season challenge of completing a 20 to get a portal, and making that something you need to engage in weekly for gear (with a squish making it a 10 now).

Now, a lot of people still manage it. But the effort required is noticeably higher, that relaxing feeling of “ah, completed my 20 and can now take it easy in 15’s” is permanently gone, which means that when the Vault is disappointing due to RNG, that disappointment is even more irritable because of the greater weekly effort it represents.

Bad vault? Means all that time spent grinding 10’s went down the drain. They could’ve just been doing 8’s for gilded crests, had an easier time, and gotten done quicker.

My suggestion is these people just get their mythic track and gilded crests from raiding instead.
