I don’t care what you say.
Moon guard has the best kind of folks.
Trade chat is always pumping.
People are positive and nice and they are always talking all kinds of nonsense.
I want to play Horde but my server choices are pretty bad area52, illidan, bronze beard.
I was thinking of Emerald Dream / any server on the Horde side that is as fun as Moon Guard ?
Don’t quote me on this as I’m still fairly new to Moon Guard and the RP server scene myself, but I’ve heard for years now that it’s essentially MG if you want to join an RP server as Alliance, or Wyrmrest Accord if you want to join an RP server as Horde.
Anyone else want to help confirm/deny that?
turalyon best server. wait bronze beard is a server?

If I didn’t hate Orgrimmar’s portal room so much, I’d still be an Orc… because Orcs are pretty cool. I try to avoid elves!
nmust get those thoughts out of your head. doubly so.

NEVER!
I just don’t wanna be an elf… my hunter is already a void elf for reasons
void elves are the worst.
wra trade chat is more chill and down to earth and has less thin skinned manchildren and womanchildren
I haven’t been there long myself, but I can see why the long time RP folks get annoyed at the “tourists” and the folks that are only there for ERP and the memes, so I’m going to repeat what I had been told for many years prior and learned firsthand VERY quickly:
The folks in Goldshire, as well as the vast majority of the folks in Trade Chat saying all kinds of ridiculous nonsense do NOT represent the RP community as a whole.
And I’ll be honest: I’m glad I heard about my guild and met some of the folks from it BEFORE I checked out the server. Had I made an alt and then just went to Stormwind to get a feel for things and saw MG Trade Chat, I’d have honestly thought RP was dead on the server.

I went there because a few of my friends play there and talk about it from time to time, the TRP app and what not but honestly I’m one of those people on that server for the laughs more than anything… y’all may not want the goldshire inn people to represent y’all, unfortunately they kinda do since they’re so numerous and so consistent and boy… they are… a lot and I can see why y’all don’t want them there.
I mean, it’s not JUST Moon Guard with a Goldshire problem. The inn is just a straight up meme on nearly every RP server in both the US and EU. Northshire is in very close proximity, so it really takes zero effort to get a level one alt over there and see if “the stories” are true.
Unfortunately, GIFT as Penny Arcade likes to call it is in full effect. When you give a clown an audience and little reason to think there will be consequences for what they say and do, then don’t be shocked when they start to act like a clown. The sad part is that it almost always results in a chain reaction: other clowns think it’s funny and then decide to join in. One becomes three, three becomes ten, and then it just snowballs. Trade Chat has always been one such avenue, and it would seem that what happens in Goldshire is another such avenue, only when people get over there it seems like the excuse becomes “Oh, I didn’t mean anything by it! That was in character!” 99% of what happens there is not legitimate roleplaying, and I can already tell that the real roleplayers avoid it solely because if they tried to do something serious there, multiple people would likely do everything they can to be obnoxious.
I’ll admit: I myself have poked my head in over there when I first arrived on MG. I mainly had the mindset of “Ok, it’s happening, but it can’t be THAT bad, can it?”
Boy, was I wrong!
It really is a night and day difference between the folks in Goldshire that have TRP profiles, and the folks that take the hobby seriously. I haven’t had reason to use it yet, but I know that TRP apparently has a feature that can actually report TRP profiles to Blizzard. There’s a part of me that actually wonders if we’d see complaining on the forums if someone actually took the time to start using it as I honestly believe some of those profiles are going unnoticed simply because everyone that is serious avoids it like the plague.

It’s not enough to ever make me leave the Horde, but that portal room is the worst design. Just complete nonsense and inefficiency.

I was looking around for something similar and at one time, wyrmrest accord was a great option, but it turns out most of them moved over to moon guard. If you get an answer to this, please let me know because I would not mind playing one character for role-play.
Any other day of the week I am told server communities don’t exist.
A lot play both: MG if they want to play Alliance characters, WrA if they want to play Horde characters.
Also, Tournament of Ages, a huge cross faction cross server RP event, is currently going on this week, so some are moving to Alliance to serve as ‘anchor’ groups so we can do cross faction stuff!
Anyway, WrA isn’t as ‘wild’ chat wise, but I think a great number of people are nice and there’s plenty of RP to go around, if that’s your thing. If you’re looking for hostile political banter, you’re probably not going to find it there. At least not for long.
This is kind of true, but it’s a little oversimplified. MG has more of a “walk-up community” presence, whereas WrA is known for its thriving Horde guild scene. So if you’re not looking to join any guilds and you’re just looking to like, wander around and see people—you’ll be hard pressed to find MG’s Alliance community directly replicated on the Horde on any server.
That’s not to say all WrA RP is cloistered away in guilds! There’s still plenty of stuff happening out in the world too. And there are folks really putting in the effort to maintain that. I’m just saying it’s not on MG Alliance levels for that specific kind of thing. If you want the most out of WrA, it’s best to look into guilds, discord communities, etc. That’s where they really shine!
Wish me luck guys. Just moved my horde main to WMA.
