okay guys I need a little advice.
i sincerely enjoy the rotation of sub rogue.
what im asking is how much is the overall damage output in dragonflight. how are they doing in mythic+ and what not. its my understanding outlaw rogue is a little bit better but i enjoy the play style of sub more.
let me know how i can increase my raw damage output. all help here would be appreciated you guys. hopefully you cats are all staying safe.
but yeah im somewhat of a sweaty try hard player and just wanna max out my dps as much as possible. all help here would be appreciated. looking for sub rogue advice on how to max out my dps.
You’ve posted on your paladin, so it is tough to offer certain kinds of recommendations about stuff like gear, talents, etc.
Not sure if you knew but Wowhead periodically posts damage rankings for all specs. Rogues are mixed in that spectrum. Need to take it with a grain of salt. Like just because assassination rogues were top 5 recently, doesn’t mean they’ll stay there, and it doesn’t mean any individual assassination rogue will achieve that.

yeah my current rogue is not levelled yet.
thanks for the advice though i appreciate ill use wowhead more as a resource for my future questions n what not. youre the best buddy. hope youre having fun in azeroth. ill be able to post further questions in the future with the correct character type. but again thanks for your suggestions.

i just prefer the rotation of subtle as opposed to assa and outlaw. i think its far more nuanced you know? but just a personal thing. i like all the specs in this game for the most part. hope youre staying safe and are enjoying your time in dragonflight buddy. thanks for the help ill employ some of those suggestions asap. thanks again.

Have seen some bananas numbers from rogues of all specs in LFR, normal raids, and M+. If you like sub, I say stick with it. I’d defer to actual sub rogues for detailed advice on rotation, etc. but if you like that flow, as long as you keep your stat priorities on your gear in line, talent properly (Wowhead has recommended talent trees for sub spec, with variations depending on what you are trying to do), and figure out a good rotation, you should be able to put up decent damage in raids and M+. Some sub rogues don’t seem super happy right now, but again, I’d defer to those players for more detailed insights.

thanks again mate! youre giving really good advice. ill continue to research the classes especially sub rogue. its pretty heavy duty. i got into theory crafting and the like. its been going quite good. i appreciate all the help you given me so far and will incorporate all of your suggestions.
im making sure i use things like consumables/etc for my characters to max out dps where possible. thanks a bunch buddy your suggestions will be used in kind. but yeah if you have any other advice ill look into it as soon as possible. thanks muchly for that buddy hope you n yours are staying safe!

I’ve been a main rogue for a fair bit of this xpac as sub and to answer your question on how much damage, it really depends on fight style for raiding I personally feel that pure single target is subs weakest option but by no means bad im usually near the top of the all important damage meters. In m+ or any aoe I would say sub pulls ahead, spreading ruptures with uncapped aoe black powder and very short cd dance with secret tech + cold blood your in for a good time, sub also has a very strong st while using aoe talents so you don’t lose out on much boss damage. Sub does however suffer at low target count 2 mob fights are by far the worst black powder only out dps Evis at 3 targets + so you essentially are playing full st but putting out 2 ruptures luckily there isn’t any long 2 target cleave fights in vault but in the future there may be

acenis im willing to learn as well outlaw n assa specs. i just prefer subtle its slightly more nuanced than the other two. however, im willing to learn the other specs as well. learn the whole class right? thanks for the tips yeah from what i see subtle does suffer at single target but im willing to learn what is needed. thanks for the advice so far guys you guys all rock.
I’m not 100% but assass is generally the pure st spec, outlaw plays similar to sub with similar downsides of not great in pure single target but outlaws 2 target cleave is way better with blade flurry. The only thing with learning all specs is sub stats sub and outlaw can generally gear the same ignore haste focus crit then vers/mastery. Outlaw wants more vers sub wants more mastery but a mix is fine assass uses haste so your probably better off just going sub and outlaw and messing with those 2 first

Side note: I am watching the M+ competitions on the Warcraft channel on Twitch, and so far, when any team has included a rogue, it has been a sub rogue. Not sure I understand why but one commentator mentioned they can be effective with both single target and short radius AOE by using less or more Black Powder. So, that sort of proves that sub rogues, at least, have a place in high level mythic play, and since you’ve said already you are willing to do the homework, I’m sure you’ll be fine

Well I am sub in M+ and in Raid and I did a Nokhud Offensive +16 with 2 other guildies and my Overall damage for the dungeon was 120m dmg @73k dps

Shuiken Storm + Black Powder is a lot of AoE. And as mentioned, Sub sacrifices very little single target in the process.

i been looking at overall dps rankings for thins like mythic and what not on wowhead for example. its neat data rogue is parsin really well.
