I just thought it would be important for everyone to know since subscription status on GD is mandatory. I have allowed my subscription to continue to renew as I am enjoying the game for the most part. Thank you for your time!

i took a two year break (April 2015-May2017) and only kept one of my three accounts subscribed. during that two year break, i remained somewhat active on the forums and only logged into the game to earn anniversary feats of strength
Did they finally change it so you need a sub to post?
That is how it used to be, and I personally think that is how it should be. There really is no reason that someone who has never played, or who has chosen to stop playing, needs to be on the forums.

I know there have been peeps posting without a sub and was just wondering. At least they claim not to have a sub. I dont mind them posting if they used to play and are thinking of coming back and are asking about new features or what not.
Thing is they were always able to read about it. And I guess if they want to discuss upcoming stuff they could always do so on the wow reddit or mmo champion. I just think that allowing people without a sub to post is opening the door for troll central to crawl through.

Pretty sure it’s an unintended function of the new forum software. They don’t intend for people without subs to post here and there were also some permabanned people that were allowed to post as well.
One of the things about the WoW forums is that you know the people speaking still have stake in the game.

Why 3 accounts? You can play only 1 character at a time. What do you usually do with 2 other accounts? Banks?
i dabbled in dual boxing, and the third account was to get myself a backseater mount. also i wanted more than just 10 characters on my realm, not a problem nowadays with it upped to 18 and connected to another realm
those are just the accounts that i have subscriptions for. i also have two starter (aka trial) accounts

They do though because they don’t actually unsub. They just like the attention. You can tell because they all seem to say, “My sub runs out in 2 weeks” or “My sub runs out in 7 days.” The ones who actually unsub don’t come here to make announcements that they are leaving.

unfortunately, as of right now, unsubscribed accounts that aren’t forum banned can post replies here. i know for a fact that the license this character is on had its game time run out several months ago.
i’m sure they’ll fix it soon, kind of like when the old forum search was busted for nearly five months earlier this year
That’s why we are seeing so dumb comments cuz they have already left the game and whine like toxic troll babies

I play 2 characters together all the time - one from each account.
Traveling together is easy with 2-seater mounts, each has a follow macro to easily follow the other when on foot, and it’s easy to alt/tab between them when questing and gathering. It’s fun dungeoning with my family of 3, running 5 toons between us.
