While I like the concept of Allied Races, I think Blizz went too far in their implementation. Many of the Allied Races could’ve been customization options akin to the Night Warrior unlocks (Lightforged, Mechagnomes and Highmountain). With that said I think the new customizations are a great way to add subraces without having a million different AR’s, this in turn will make any future Allied Race we get feel more unique.
We already know this is happening, with Trolls getting Sand Trolls and what looks like Dark Trolls, and Dwarves are getting Wildhammers. So my question is what other subraces do you guys think could be added? I’m personally hoping that Gilgoblins will become an option for goblins.
I think someone on the Forums noticed Blood Trolls… Don’t see any myself(I looked at the picture) so don’t know what that person was going on about… Must be mistaken.
I think in an interview someone mentioned Blood Troll-like paint, but whether that means Blood Trolls or just red tattoos remains to be seen. I really hope they add blood trolls though.
As a stretch, I’d like to see Draenei gain more Broken facial features, since I know at this point it’s pretty damn unlikely we’ll see them as an Allied Race. The realist in me, however, knows that that’s not really within the realms of what they’re doing with these customizations. Just a thought though.
With Shadowland’s customization it is very clear that allied races such as Lightforged, Dark Iron and Mag’har should have never been a thing when they could have just been customization.
Allied races should always have been things unique like Vulpera or something with a unique model like the Kultiran.
Maybe with the customization system we will get Dragonmaw orcs or some variant on the demonic orc.
With the new leveling system going into place where you won’t start off in the racial zones I could actually see them adding Kaldorei Worgen as a customization to Worgen. I mean the big issue before was that it would make no sense to go through the Gilneas intro as a Night Elf, but that issue is no alleviated.
The only problem I see now is the question of how did the Kaldorei Worgen regain their humanity? Unless Blizzard did a short scenario to show them joining up with us and undergoing the ritual it would be a big question left unanswered.
I’d like to see more nightborne customization and blood elves with blue eyes (cuz you know no fcki high elves for the alliance).
The void elves delve deep into more old godish tentacles and stuff, cuz they are all about it.
Red and black orcs for the MU orc.
Undead elves for forsaken. Cuz we are FORSAKEN and not night or blood elves.
Highborne golden eyes for night elves and jewelry to match their ancestral.
I have a feeling Void Elves are getting fair skin options. It is the closest thing we will get to High Elves on the Alliance.
Also I read on these forums, it’s validity is up for debate, that someone saw a dev tweet that Blood Elves will be getting the Undead Elf look as an option, so basically Belves will be able to be Dark Rangers in look.
I mean that is easy to do, dks already have it, so it is not a stretch to give some dead skin for blood elves but still that would be silly cuz ghey would ne blood elves but forsaken, but alas it is free so we might just welcome it.
But the coherent would be forsaken getting both ne and be models cuz they are the dead ones.
And ve getting more old god/void features cuz that is their theme
Forsaken aren’t getting Undead Night Elves as a customization option, if anything those will be given to Night Elves to show that they were welcomed back into the Alliance.
It’d be funny if Void Elves got Blood Elf customization options, too, since they are Blood Elves, and we even see some Blood Elves in their starting area.
Still they are forsaken( words from delaryn) and by the logic of the game they should be with the forsaken. Cuz as of now we just know that calia will be taking care of them, be it in the alliance or the horde.
Still the undead skins should be in the forsaken, cuz they are the undead playable faction. And both dead elves are related to the forsaken in one way or another.
