hey all, with the ranks of deeper daggers, it will get to the point where it is a dps loss to hit rupture.
I was testing hunter and saw their venthyr ability flayed shot is considered a bleed, but does damage as shadow damage. (So ik assuming it won’t be dispelled as a magic effect)
What if sub had an additional rank of rupture thay caused it to be a bleed that did shadow damage? It would fit with the shadow damage theme and would scale with deeper daggers. Though maybe scale too much.
Thoughts?
Rupture dealing extra damage on targets with Find Weakness would be an easy fix, maybe even applying a shadow damage called, you know, Nightblade (just damage, nothing more) alongside it.
Throwing extra shadow damage at it isn’t as easy as it might sound.
Let’s say Rupture ticks for 10% ap (IIRC, it’s like 12something?), or 15% with the shadow bonus. That doesn’t sound like much until they both crit, and you’re up to 40% ap. Throw the 150% max rank deep daggers at the shadow value, and we’re up to 70%. Add ~50% mastery on the initial bleed roll, we’re talking double crit ticks of over 100% ap.
Having a dot potentially tick harder than (non-crit) Shadowstrike might be too crazy even for whoever increased its range.
Rogue Players: UGH, I hate nightblade, Blizzard! Remove nightblade give me back rupture like back in dae vanilla!!! It is dumb and purple and I want a bleed for purely because it cant be dispelled!!! >>:((
Also Rogue Players: Hey, uh, it looks like this ability is a dps loss, maybe if they added some shadow damage component it could be useful.
Nightblade fits the current Subtlety theme more than Rupture, they definitely just added it back as fan service lol.
Nightblade would work with Deeper Daggers and this issue wouldn’t even have happened.
Or, they could just make deep daggers work with rupture. Be it Sang Veins light, blade twisting, or whatever.
Two fixing words: Sanguinary Veins.
We also didn’t know deeper daggers was going to be a thing. It literally will scale to make rupture a net dps loss.
Maybe you forgot Nightblade also reduced healing taken and increased our damage by 15% on the target? That’s what made Nightblade bad to use, not the shadow damage.
Well I’m sure people are referring to wanting hemo sub back. Which would be amazing. It just doesn’t make sense because it seems blizavision is ready to die on the sub shadow hill bs. So with them doing that making one of subs abilities a bleed is cool because it can’t be dispelled, but now we just lost like 1/3rd of our shadow damage abilities. So I think we are just kinda annoyed that blizavision likes to sit on the fence with most decisions. They never pick a side and run with it. They are very wishy washy and it’s annoying.
