Sub Rogue help needed

Have played Assn rogue since LK. Trying Sub, everyone says it’s so good. I find that after my first or second burst, if the target is still up, I have nothing to do but Backstab? Is this what Sub is? What sustainable damage can Sub do for longer fights. I enjoy BG’s, if target is not dead just run away and reset?

Any advice would be helpful.

You typically shadow dance when you activate shadow blades or when you have shadowy technique available. Normally you’ll have maybe 2-4s of downtime if you rotate shadow dance effectively. It takes a while to understand the rhythm. Also, be sure to pool energy and points before you activate shadow dance and only activate it when your about to use shadowy technique or shadow blades (you can use shadow dance with either up, and you can use both together).

OP, if anyone tells you to use dance on cool down (immediately when available) is bad, don’t listen to them.

It’s better to pool resources and prepare for your next dance. Having our apex talents ready for super charged finishers is very nice. Make sure sec tec is one of them. Bonus points if you can followup with coup if trickster or darkest night if deathstalker.

Does it make sense to over cap on combo points to proc apex talent? or this bad idea?

How are you guys playing around apex? just play normally and let proc naturally or are yall forcing procs?

I’m throwing in the towel and just casually pveing till the sub runs out, because it’s just garbage.

Improved garrote, iron wire, and shrouded suffocation still require us to restealth. So the whole CT helping wasn’t even adequate. It was a half measure. We lost master assassin, and the rotation just is what it is.

You bleed, do as many envenoms as you can before they fall off, re-apply, and repeat. Whether you can pull it off cleanly isn’t up to you. It’s up to how many mobs you’ve got to work with. If the tank pulls 6-9 we’re alright. Can work decently with that. Pull more and it’s gonna suck because we cannot afford to press CT to spread to more mobs.

They just broke the spec. 5 envenoms back to back being the requisite for maximum refund just doesn’t play out well in any scenario except a boss, and in that ONE scenario where you can consistently pull it off. It’s boring.

Our Dots also just feel like moonfire and sunfire. We lost all the damage. Garrote just tickles so that I guess we can have +30% from the tier set? Absolutely stupid.

Play normally, always send finisher at 6+ combo points.
