Sub Required for Beta

It’s honestly fine. Really. A whole lotta lulsy but it’s just beta.

this is literally the first beta test theyve done that required a subscription who in their right mind who subscribe without a purpose believe it or not some of us want value for our money and BFA has not provided that. no sane company charges people to do beta testing. stop defending the cash grab

There’s a separate WoW classic beta opt in that you have to actively go into your beta settings to check.

It’s almost like some of us want value for our money spent, why would we subscribe to a game currently that has no content when they have never once before charged people to beta test.

I dont need to justify a company that wants to make money.

Either pay for the beta or dont. Its not a big deal.

For people who don’t play retail/BfA this just makes getting a beta invite a gamble

Also, only inviting retail players to the beta test doesn’t make a lot of sense when there are plenty of good vanilla players to invite instead, whose feedback is more valuable

No one’s being charged for beta access and that’s a Fox News-worthy way to dishonestly spin it.

So that you can get access to the beta. Which it sounds like you really want.

Alternatively: Why should they offer beta access to people with nothing invested in their game?

Its a gamble, its a $15/mo subscription for a chance not a guarantee at beta access, Given that classic launches on the 27th of August if you were to resub now you get billed May-August. People want value for their money they dont like messing around with probability of whether or not they would get into a beta based on a subscription and that money could be used else where.

Enjoy the beta. I’m not using my token time to MAYBE get into beta and I sure as hell ain’t subbing because I do not care for modern WoW.

It’s unfortunate that the very people that have supported this effort until it was brought into fruition… the many who are perhaps the most knowledgeable about vanilla WoW (not pointing at me here) are the ones who won’t be testing it.

I was wrong… there is a way that Ion can darken Classic with his “lead development” of the game.

I don’t understand the wailing and gnashing of teeth of those players who are not currently subbed. Can those of you who are torqued about Blizz’s requirement for a sub to get into Beta not understand that if you aren’t subbed they really have no idea how to contact you, much less evaluate your eligibility for Beta.

Just think of the millions of players who quite WoW over the last 15 years. Do you honestly think that when Blizz considers players for Classic Beta they’re going to search through the records of millions of former subscribers?

Just the people that want to participate it in…

Except they do… if you have a blizzard account, they have your email. You also have the bnet launcher…

Sorry but there is NO reason for Blizzard for you to be asking people to have active subs for WOW to get into the classic beta. First I will NEVER play retail WOW ever again. The game is complete crap. The ONLY time frame I enjoyed WOW was Vanilla and TBC. WOTLK is where WOW went wrong for me. So there is no reason for me to sub until release of classic.

By putting in a sub requirements for Beta you ignore hundreds of players like me who refuse to sub just to get into Beta. Your First selection of players should be. Did this player have an active account for 12+ months from 2004 to 2006 if yes then they get automatically invited. They are going to be better for your testing than inviting RETAIL players to play classic.

Lmao this statement is so ridiculous. There are plenty of people who loved Vanilla and still play retail. Stop with the "all the most knowledgeable don’t play anymore!!’

The problem is they’re not thinking at all. People who are currently subbed (even if we played back then), to them, are a lower class of human being not worthy of the special treatment they feel they deserve.

They feel like “We cancelled our subs, uninstalled the game and instead went to play on pirated versions of the game. Reward us now” makes nothing but sense.

This a bit of hyperbole don’t you think?

Well if I don’t get beta. I will end sub been paying them for almost nothing for years.

contact information IS LITERALLY IN THE ACCOUNT INFORMATION if you have a blizzard account they have your contact. they have the methods to contact people
