Sub only stress test = biased feedback

There are people out there who decided not to pay $15 for a beta lottery ticket, and then again chose not to pay $15 for 2 days of lvl 1-15 only content.

If you filter out some of the classic audience who isn’t willing to to pay for the briefest whiff of beta, and filter in bored retail subs who are just getting this access tacked on for a fee they already paid, you’re gonna get a skewed view of what the customer really wants. It’ll work like a charm though if you just wan’t a bunch of people to complain about crowds and evangelize the wonders of layering so you can point to a big long thread and be like “see, it’s what people want!”

the stress test is for testing the server stability and layering, no other feedback that is what the regular beta is for

Customers pay. No-one needs a mooch’s opinion

They said the different servers was to test different layering tech and such. However it appears to be a monumental failure as all are offline but two pvp servers. So layering tech failed?

They took them offline due to not being stressed enough.

Paying customers have a “vested” interest in making sure the game is successful. If you don’t want to pay, you don’t need to play.

This stress test isnt for game feedback genius…

I was reading the feedback thread.

One NE player saw 10 other players…said felt like a dead realm.
Another NE player saw 12 other players and said it was too crowded.

People all over the place on defining “crowded” vs “dead”.

Also seems if they can’t get their quest done ASAP then it’s “too crowded”.

Also seems they want to quest in peace…like by themselves with no one else around.

If their failing totally with only their ‘‘Subbed players’’… Imagine when everyone that isn’t subbed come and join on release day… Oh boy that’s gonna be fun.

For everyone else:
People saying people not paying are not ‘‘vested’’ enough or whatever the bad reason. Don’t know much about testing. Obviously if their test is that chaotic with only people that are subbed, oh boy you’ll love the release when all the non-sub decide to rebuy a sub!

But obviously im not interested in BFA enough to feel like buying a sub.

'eyyyy, that’s me~

To be fair a lot of the people not currently subbed are the people they’re trying to get back.

If the only people who play Classic are the people who are currently playing BfA, Blizzard wont actually make any money on it.

The opinions of non-subscribers has to matter to some degree if they want those people to subscribe.

Did you see the comment from another NE that said they saw 12 and that it felt overcrowded ?

seeing 12 players on launch day and they think the area is too crowded ?

While it will be nice to get them back, that is not the ONLY reason Classic is here.

Don’t give streamers or pserver no pay kiddies to much validity. If they want to play, they got to pay. Just like us all.

puts on fire resist gear

Don’t dis those pserver players too much…you got classic thanks to their efforts.

Partially. I do not look at nost as our saviors. But that could just be me.

Like I said, lets get them all back in.

Aye. It baffles me.

I see a lot of people who don’t understand the point of the stress test.

They will, but that doesn’t mean they’ll pay for a chance at the beta.

That’s the point we’re trying to make. The stress test, if used to gauge what the launch will be like, is not going to be accurate, because there’s a large pool of players not subscribed just to stress test.

OMG…I can’t believe the number of posters in the feedback thread complaining they can’t do their quests. It’s supposed to be a simulation of launch day with the crowds…not a solo instance.

You know it’s a test right ? That it isn’t the full game ? That having more people participating in said stress test can only offer more data and more stable servers on release ?

I understand that. But they are getting good data from what I am seeing just browsing Twitch and Youtube.
