It was buggy as hell back then those mounts were released.
Blizzard is smart.
Because nobody that spends that much would ever admit they themselves are the fool. That they have been tricked.

I never bought the Brutosaur, but I did buy the Grizzly mount with the transmog – it takes up so much less space than the Yak that it’s practically a public service to everyone around me.
Anyway, I don’t see it as sunk cost fallacy. Lots of people, like me, legitimately enjoy the game. And who cares what they spend their money on? That’s between them and their tax preparer. I’ve spent time recently on Baldur’s Gate 3 and Hogwarts Legacy, and they’re fun but I keep coming back to WoW, because it offers me the consistency of characters I’ve developed over many years, but always new challenges and experiences.

I saw the birds and was not impressed.
I mean the models are crisp, but they don’t have anything else going for them lol.
Like I dropped $90 on the bruto without a second thought. I see $35 for the tmog and those 2 birds… feels over priced.
Especially when I got this one free.
I support this. Saw a few of these back with the launch of TWW. And more when the awful tuning choices came out. And more when 11.0.5 dropped. And more when the keystone 12 M+ wall became the only thing people could throw themselves against because of awful raid tuning.
And behold! The response from Blizz was to release a gimped Mythic end boss that died in 100 pulls and we got the best M+ season in some time.
They listen when the money dries up. Despite their best efforts to keep sweaty endgame in the spotlight. Not like the game director GM’d a guild called “Eliteist Jerks” or anything.

I’m old school and I don’t feel anything when I buy something from a shop.
No joy, no nothing.
Just only really like rewards that have to be played for, either a rare drop or an achievement or something.
Basically an old man yelling at clouds, because paid cosmetics are here to stay.
And I do see it as sunk cost, simply because the mount is way more expensive than a copy of the game itself, lol.
Every new city added will have an AH, and mailbox toys exist. Just don’t see much of a purpose really.
It just makes the world feel smaller, which is something I’m not for.
Like, how much AH running justifies a $90 purchase? Lol

But sunk costs fallacy means you avoid leaving something that’s no longer doing what you want because you have already sunk so much money into it. WoW is doing what I want.

Idk, I see a frightening number of these whenever I’m in Dornogal.
Makes me believe the majority of players WoW has left, are the types to buy these sorts of things.
It’s no different than games like League of Legends having $100 skins.
It’s just alarming to me lol, I’d rather buy new games, but just my opinion.
I’m not a “paid cosmetics” kinda guy.
Just wanna see stuff earned through gameplay itself.
In any game with a store, it goes unused by me.
