STV has been absolutely miserable for me all weekend. In addition to the terrible lag and phasing issues, other major problems include lack of chained spirits and poor boss locations. As a healer, I used to get 800+ coins per run (DPS in group got well over a thousand). This weekend, I ranged from 100 to 300 on average per event. It’s just not worth spending 45+ minutes for 2 coins.
When STV launched, every alter had multiple spirit rezzers, and I think there were multiple blood bosses on the map. Now, there is only one blood boss per event, so groups can end up wasting 10 minutes just getting to the boss. The boss is the meta right now; people want to fight only near boss. There should be multiple bosses, and this would help ease the lag by distributing players across alters.
Additionally, as a healer I am completely dependent on my group to generate blood for me. I am a sitting duck if I’m by myself. The problem is that there are no longer reliable rezzers nearby, and if there is one, it’s constantly moving locations. It’s so frustrating trying to regroup because the graveyard rezzer is usually very far away from the boss, which prompts players to try to stealth or body rez back to the boss, fragmenting the group. I’m constantly getting stranded. When I’m in good groups that are coordinated, we might spawn together, but we’re so far away from the boss that we can’t reach it and don’t get enough blood.
I feel like the cost of dying in STV is too high now. The event is more stressful than fun for me.
