Where did the developers say it was a FFA event?
As a healer I am also not looking forward to this event. I just don’t think roaming deathsquads seem fun, and this game isn’t balance around 1v1s either so playing solo wouldn’t be great. I’d rather something objective based but I’m willing to see how it plays out before completely disregarding it
There are some people for whom factionalism, of one kind or another, has become their whole personality. They can’t comprehend someone who actually thinks about things instead of blind obedience.
Not a fan of FFA PVP personally.
Blizzard will admit this was a mistake fairly quickly given the amount of citriol people will experience within their own faction.
This is a very poorly thought out event.
I for one quit playing Retail WoW because of the World PVP Free-For-All Zones. I’m a Pureblood Alliance. I don’t kill my own Faction. I don’t play Horde and don’t want to. I don’t want Horde in my Dungeons, I don’t want Horde in my Raids, I don’t want Horde in my Guild. Hell I don’t want Horde on my Planet and have spent the last 20+ years Trying to Eradicate them! I am outraged to see them bring that Poison to Classic Servers! If Enough of us let them know that we play this game For the Faction War, maybe they will do something to correct their Mistake. Do all this Cross Faction Crap outside of War Mode and PVP Servers. It is not wanted here by your Old School World pvpers! We should have a place to do our thing just as much as the pve types Have theirs!
Have you seen the item rewards? Its hardly optional man. Event will be super degenerate and will require dozens of layers to be remotely playable
In the video on the Phase 2 post. Roughly 11 minutes in.
People really just love to complain about something…this is wild
No you aren’t. “It will kill SoD” is a baseless reactionary statement.
“Friends will farm eachother to get the good items quickly” is an example of a concern.
“People will opt out in PvP realms and then make 40 man raids to annihilate the other faction, which could lead to everyone opting out to turn big raid groups to defend the area from the opposite factions raid groups” is another example of a concern.
Same here.
This is just an awful change.
Not sure why they are doing this.
Blizzard seems to hear the subscription money leave louder than anything. I also thought “Fire the PoS that thought this was a good idea” might be a little more inflammatory than the way I went about about.
In the same post that people say “can’t you just have fun?” People will mock people for being “faction minded” in a game where the story is a war between factions?
I got kicked out of my horde guild when they found out I main alliance so I’m for sure not the only person that plays this way.
You can opt out of it at an NPC that disables faction less PVP in that area. It’s legit a non-issue.
I can opt out of factionless pvp and still pvp as normal? Or opt out of the event totally?
Phase 1 was absolute trash for pvp and you’re still here. You might as well try P2
You can opt out of factionless and still PVP as normal.
Wowhead and other sites didn’t detail it well, they discuss it in the 30 min video presentation they released.
You can disable it so only you can attack members of then opposite faction and only members of the opposite faction can attack you.
EDIT: here is the video, starting around 10:30 they start talking about PVP. I don’t remember the exact spot they mention it and I’m at work so I can’t really look for it but they explain it in the vid.
Sad to see you go bro. I notice we are on the same server.
Can I have your stuff?
One more question for you… can the opposing faction turn off pvp in the zone?
If you are in a PvP server it’s still going by PvP server rules. So you can disable the factionless PvP for the event but it still runs by normal PvP server rules if on one. I assume, take assumptions with a grain of salt here… if you are on a PvE server you probably can’t be attacked, even in the event, unless you flag first.
This would be a good question of concern for Blizz to comment on.
can’t wait for the graveyard camp abuse
Again, not a concern.
I’m guessing this isn’t the full story, but even if it is, it is perfectly reasonable to not want your guild filled with people whose main focus is a completely different server.
