Nope they certainly can’t make this layering system work at all to the benefit of the players. Even when reforming the group several times between 5 separate leaders it still doesn’t layer us together in stv. This whole system is a failure design flaw that hasn’t worked out once. Also so much for Blizzard making the servers be 50/50 even split with the factions. There’s such a massive overflow of Alliance players that it’s completely screwing up the population and overflowing the server’s layering system. The whole thing is a complete joke.
I hope they make a public statement about this soon. They’re more focused on hotfixing abilities to balance around level 40, whereas they’re basically radio silent on layering issues that have been apparent since P1 and are only more noticeable with the addition of the STV event, which is practically unplayable at this point.
Not a great look when this is supposed to be one of the highlights of the phase, to be honest.
I don’t think solo is the answer - I would say adding a stacking debuff that makes each additional party member a little less effective. For each party member, add a stack of a debuff that decreases dmg dealt by 5% and increases dmg taken by 5%. 2 people would still be better than 1 person, but not doubled. 5 people would still be better than 4, but not by much.
Just makes it a little less zergy and gives a little opportunity for someone to get picked off if not playing well as a group.
