Stuttering problems

In the last couple of days I’ve begun having a stuttering problem with WoW. The issue only occurs after I open chrome on my 2nd monitor. After that, the game will stutter only when trying to view tooltips. Nothing else triggers it, nothing else is affected. It stays this way until I restart my entire PC, at which point it is fine again until I open Chrome again.

Just a couple of points - this happens on every character, this is reproduced 100% of the time, restarting WoW and closing Chrome have no effect after the issue begins.

Bit of an odd thing here Caelax. Try disabling hardware acceleration in the Chrome browser.

Open Google Chrome.
Click Customize and Control Google Chrome > Settings .

  • Click on Show advanced settings and scroll to the System section.
  • Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available and restart Google Chrome.

i was having the same issue and did what you said and am no longer having a problem thank you so much!

Hey Tratt,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that didn’t resolve the issue!

Hey, Caelax!

Would it be possible to compare your Memory, CPU, and GPU usage with HWMonitor before and after opening Chrome with WoW open?

Do you have specific tabs open in Chrome when you open it? Or does it happen even if you open a blank Chrome window?

Also, please collect a DXDIAG and post it here using the Preformatted Text button in the posting options. Just make sure the full DXDIAG contents are between the Preformatted Text tags.

I’m actually replying now to say that I figured out the problem. It was super late last night when I made this post so I guess I wasn’t thinking straight enough to test my addons. Oddly enough, the interaction only occurs with WoW open, chrome opened, and the Auctionator addon as well. Disabling the addon fixes the problem so that’s what I’ll be doing.

Okay, great!

Thanks for following up with the details.
