Stun turn around

Sometimes my target faces the other way after a stun sometimes it doesnt. Is this a chance effect

Made a post about this awhile back in general. I could be completely wrong about this, but from what I’ve observed, it SEEMS like whenever I gouge or kidney shot a mob, it ends up facing whatever direction it was facing when I opened on it from stealth. On a longer fight, I’ve noticed they turn in the same direction when I use multiple incaps/stuns in a single fight. It seems to do this on 90%+ of the mobs I fight. Then there is the separate bug that shows the mob facing a direction it is not (the ‘must be behind target’ errors when behind target).

still happening in TBC classic , makes playing mutilate very very frustrating
sometimes your character looks visually behind the mob but get message ‘must be behind target’
I can literally kidney shot and not move, Mutilate as it considers me attacking from the back? Or the mob spins around instantly for some reason…

Thanks for necroing a 2 year old thread.

must still be a problem

it is, makes trying to Backstab or Mutilate very difficult
not an internet or latency issue

It’s still an issue, mobs spin around & face their back to you almost always after Kidney Shot
Very annoying as sometimes visually they look the same but Mutilate/Backstab cannot go through
I don’t know what it is about TBC classic but mobs act strange when facing a player character, it was different the first time around

I have always had a habit of stunning enemies and running around behind them to continue attacking. Maybe because I come from an older generation of Rogue player?

…and perhaps my mind is withering with age but… was this “stun turn around effect” added as a feature of convenience at some point?

Until now I have always subconsciously delt with it and felt dumb whenever I ran around to backstab but was at the enemy’s front.

/shrug…

Played rogue religiously from prepatch tbc until legion.

Cant comment on when this started. But it definitely wasnt around back when my class had positional requirments.

I first started running into it on private servers when cataclysm came out and i wanted to keep playing wotlk.

Its probably something in the base script that was fixed blizzard side for live, but not fixed for people just copying and pasting the game without their notes. Which is ironically what blizzard did with classic from what i heard. Like implementing clos being 60% down from 90% for a while in tbcc.

Just a guess.

And i dont mind the necro as its a recurring problem.
