I think the goal was to appeal to the more sensitive folk. Who are more open minded to caring for wildlife. It would seem they made It a difficult task of completing the quest. To see how many people love the little cute Gromlit’s. I however just opted out even though I wanted to feed them.
I love your name lol but fr it was the desire to make sure the lil guys got fed that made me stick to it and try different ways. I really, really hope they nerf the amount of razorwings. Or just remove that mechanic all together. Scaring them off is easy enough to do.
I can see them doing this if it was just a matter of coaxing critters to become friendly and then maybe follow you around for awhile. But this quest involves combat right on top of the little critter. And where is the Sage old lady saying “A turtle made it to the water”?
See I would have designed it different. I would have had a way to have some extra critters in your bag that you could toss to the razorwings instead of fighting them while you plump up the little guys
Feed them the treat from your bag. They will get a debuff.
Walk up to the critter until a bar pops up on your screen.
Click the new pop up button (make sure the critter is targeted. Make sure you do not move (even if the bird comes out). You’ll see a progress bar of their status.
As long as you don’t move and feed them with the pop up bar (not the treats in your bag. They are only used for the first part) you will get them.
And there in lies the issue. I got one fully feed, then had 3 in a row “lose interest” and just walk away while I was spamming the feed button. Bad quest design is bad, and as with all things I deem bad in this game, I just don’t do it in the hopes that my lack of participation shows up in the dev teams precious “metrics”.
This is what I do. After a successful action, I take a few steps closer, while the button is on CD. Baby steps. I also hit the mob the moment I’m able.
it isnt 100% reliable, you can do the ranged throw then get up to the critter do the action button throw only to then have the critter lose interest and leave anyway. Additionally it can lose interest at any point when fighting the multiple birds that spawn and hitting the feed ability doesnt have a 100% chance of increasing the bar progress.
Critter can despawn before you even get into range of the range ability
critter can despawn randomly when being fed
critter can despawn randomly while fighting bird spawns
feed ability does not always add progression
those are some pretty glaring issues. This daily needs to return to the ptr and be overhauled
