i have been stuck on this for a few hours now. ive done every step a blue has said to do from another forum and nothing has worked. i was hoping to game today however i feel im not going to be able to. and if i cant download this update today i wont be able to up date tomorrow. what is being done to fix this blizzard. im not the only person who is having this issue.

having this happen to me now. good to know i’m not the only one taking forever to initialize. bnet beta client swaps and the WW beta taking ages to even initialize too.
if the files in the world of warcraft folder(s) have the “Read Only” flag ticked - needs to be removed on the files Not the folders-. then the B-Net Launcher can modify and update any file(s) it needs to.
You can thank Windows for updating directories to read-only status.
I’m having the same issue. I’ve been trying to install WoW for the last 2 days and have tried every step from these forums. I just tried what Eel posted and still no luck. Made a ticket and they told me to go ask the community or a network tech.
Edit: Just minutes after posting this finally found the answer that fixed it for me.
Reset the WMI Repository
- Run “cmd” as Admin, and type this
- net stop winmgmt
- winmgmt /resetrepository
- net start winmgmt
- Restart your computer
