My launcher has been sitting at the “initializing” stage now for about 10 minutes…What is going on?

I cannot even launch the game from the program folder! I can launch and play Classic and Wrath, even PTR. Retail wont launch and does not even show a game version underneath the play button! WTH??

World of warcraft run from the retail folder does nothing but sit in task manager. Dead process.

clearing cache and wtf folders arent working either, running admin isnt working nothing is working :frowning:

same, been stuck there for the past 20 minutes. Was on 2 hours ago but logged for dinner. Tried rebooting, killing it in task manager, nothing. Finally did game repair and no help.

Gonna post the solution that helped me in the other thread. You need to delete your BNet cache.

Go to https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/battle-net-stuck-on-initializing.html and follow Solution 3.

I was having the same issue. Not sure if it’s a massive update or there’s simply something wrong with their deployment of the update. Either way, I got around it by going into my retail folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft_retail_), and launching the wow.exe from there. Game started right up. Hope this works for others.
