There’s no quest anymore and I cannot get out of the starting zone. There’s a ! mark on my map but when i go there, there’s no one there for me to continue the quest…what should i do now?

you know the starter area of WOD right before you leave the island and you have to kill that giant thing and start using the gun? there’s no quest to kill the giant…it just vanished and not appearing for days now
You should, not entirely certain, be able to Hearthstone your way out of that starting zone - because there’s no hearths to set your stone to unless it does it automatically. Then, abandon the quests; return to present time; and re-select Draenor to get told to ‘do it again’ basically.
Yeah i remember, idk why it doesnt appear though, never had that issue, are you sure you cant get out with the Heartstone?
i guess i will try that, i really wanted to level in draenor, i guess i cannot? let me try.

You can actually skip the intro quest
Apparently right before you enter the portal by talking to Khadgar you instead abandon the mission and just go in.
Havent done it myself so better check it out yourself to confirm

This sounds like the quests just after Khadgar destroys the dam and floods everything? There is a series of quests with the dwarves where you get plans, free an orc and steal some gunpowder. The powder leads back to the building where you stole it originally and one of the dwarves lets you push the plunger which lights the powder…
So somewhere in there things went wonky?
So did you escort the dwarf up the hill to the cannon?
Or did you go up the hill without the dwarf maybe?
Or… I have no idea.
It sounds like some trigger event was missed. I would:
- Reload UI
- Disable addons
- Go back down the hill and see if there is someone to talk to or something
- Maybe go down and check the dwarves again
Sorry, I’m just kinda guessing here, and don’t really have an idea how you got stuck or how to get out. 
This does indeed work… If you abandon the quest at Khadar before the portal and just go through it… You’ll end up on the shore right after the intro scenario and then start your garrison quests.

Not that I really mind it, because it seems to go really fast now and you get a lot of exp. Though getting to the Garrison quicker would be nice.
I just did it with a toon i’m leveling because I was tired of questing and figured I’d go treasure hunting instead for a bit to break up the monotony. I don’t know if this worked prepatch, but it does indeed work now.
It’s where you turn in three quests in the Umbral Halls…before you fight the one guy that pleads for mercy when he loses.
