When entering Stratholme service entrance after hitting hourly instance cap, I was stuck in a loop of being booted out because of hitting the instance cap, but the game placed me directly back on the entrance portal, so it would immediately try to load the instance again, which continued indefinitely until i finally managed to back up before getting the loading screen again.
I’m not sure if this is specific to this dungeon or happens with others.
This is still happening, happened to me several times now at the Stratholme service instance. I imagine it’s a pretty bad epilepsy trigger
Still happening in 2024. Character stuck self service does not work. Will have to wait at least 30 minutes and hope I can re-enter without this craziness.
it is still happening to me too. i even looked it up curious what is happening.
Bump, this is still an issue.
I have two characters I run on Strathlome with, and rotate between the both of them. I did about ~100 runs within the past few days, I logged in on my Druid first and completed her 10 runs with zero issue, so when I swapped over to my Paladin I was met with this. I didn’t run on my Paladin yet at all today but she’s now stuck in a loop and I’m unable to free her because I can’t even access the menu quick enough to hit the “stuck?” button, hearthing doesn’t work because it keeps pulling me back into the instance and interrupting the cast, and the last few days logging back in after 30min would usually reset it-- except this time.
I’ve provided a video of it happening: https://youtu.be/-fkRecQpBZc
The instance lockout is an account wide 10 per hour, swapping characters cannot bypass this. As for the other issue, simply log into another character and initiate the stuck character service and select the character that is stuck or use the web form

This is not true. It’s 10 resets per hour per server. So you can easily do 10 on one server and then switch to a character on another server. Not that it detracts from your helpful link, just thought I’d share.
I blame this support article that I fielded my information from. Not about to go test it to find out if server hopping actually works

Something to try in the meantime is just holding down your “move backward” keybind (down arrow key or ‘s’ key by default) for a while, even through all the loading screens. Whenever I was experiencing this I was usually able to back up enough to get out of the loop after a few loading screens.
This is still happening 2 and a half years later. LOL
Yup, just happened to me.
