I was doing the set of quests “Strengthen the Wards”, “Meet the Team”, and “Citizens of Dalaran” in the TWW questline. I got on the Sandstone Drake mount to cart my friend around and the moment I walked into the Violet Hold area, they got kicked off my mount and I got phased into a dalaran with 0 npcs or objects. Had to use the Dalaran Hearthstone and/or regular hearthstone in order to get back to a usable dalaran.

This has been happening since Legion times. Possibly earlier. Going by memory, I think transitioning through a load screen and back to Dalaran fixes it.
I believe I relogged and stayed phased, so it has to be an actual zone transition afaik. But tbh the only reason I bring it up is that it happened during the intro questline. /shrug
