I’m getting real sick and tired of being stuck in combat while doing stuff in Tyrhold. I can’t farm for Glowing Titan Orbs or summon Ancient Protector without constantly having to alt-f4 out of the game to force my character to drop combat.
Having same issue today. Did it fine yesterday.

Update: Ok I Alt F4 twice and completely closed battle.net. Open back up and I’m still stuck in combat. OK now I’m really frustrated.

Had the same thing happen to me. I was in Tyrhold, flying around. Then I notice that I’m flagged as “in combat”. Nothing has attacked me, I have not attacked anyone. So I land… Still nothing attacks me. Nothing is approaching me. I dismount, same results. But now I can’t mount. So I glide down from Tyrhold to the Reservoir. I’m still flagged as “in combat”. So I log out and close the game. Open the game, log back in, my character is still in combat. So I kill a few mobs near me. Still in combat 5 minutes after combat concludes. This is very frustrating.
Fought some more after posting this, and never could leave combat or mount… However, I decided to try my hearthstone and was able to hearth back to Valdrakken. And once I hearthed back, I was no longer in combat… 
Been having the same problem. The only way I can fix it is to die or hearth out 
Can’t do the elemental storms that spawn in the area because I can’t mount to keep up.

Yeah I’ve been getting the issue and I think I’ve figured out what causes it.
So those titan reactors you need to active to summon the ancient protector can be hit by cleave. Which results in semi-permanently getting stuck in combat, no amount of distance seems to free you save hearthstoning.
Really sucks cause it makes summoning that rare a suffering ordeal, hopefully gets patched soon.

The “Azerite” looking beam? That’d make sense.
Yeah that’s the ones, usually have a pair of snake guardians that stand right beside it which make it all the easier to cleave.

Holy crap why is Stuck in Combat still even a thing?
If you or anyone in your party haven’t been damaged/attacked by a mob in say… the past 15 seconds, you’re not in combat.
Yep this happens to me as well. On my NE characters shadowmeld works, but other characters it is a logout or hearth situation. Really frustrating for sure.
OK, this is ridiculous. It’s happened to me too and it’s infuriating! Please fix this.
This is still a bug. Elemental storm going on, I’m stuck in combat, everyone else is flying around and I can’t tag anything.
This is still a thing… and it sucks.

You’d think that making over $100B+ / yr from their games, etc. that they’d hire a development team who could get sh1t straight, but NOPE… just keep adding new features to the game that nobody wants instead of fixing the broken stuff you’ve left behind. Nice job, Blizz.

Still an issue, and it is extremely irritating. As someone mentioned above there should absolutely be a hard-lock limit on inactive combat for the combat flag to drop. There’s no excuse for this to even be a thing, as it bricks you from being able to do things you need to do that you should otherwise be able to do.
