Fellow Evokers, this seems to only happen when I play my preservation Evoker main. For some reason, when I die and release I’m instantly put back in combat. I can’t quite tell if that’s because of my hots or my firebreath dot.
I exclusively do keys and this behaviour has put my groups in quite a few death loops over time. Even as far teleporting mobs to me when I’m all the way at the entrance after we had a full wipe.
Has anyone else experienced this?
This is a common bug that has existed since alpha of DF (shocker, right?!).
It’s generally when you have fire breath up and you instantly release after dying.
Do your best to wait 2-3 seconds to release and most of the time it will avoid the issue.
I use a weak aura that makes me hold Ctrl for 2 seconds before it’ll let me hit the release button and that’s mostly removed this issue for me.
Thanks for your reply, I thought I was going crazy. So it’s just fire breath that causes this? I’ll try to not release instantly and hopefully that will resolve it.
Is that really the solution. My god i was getting so annoyed at this for 2 years.
It’s not a solution as much as a better chance at not getting screwed per se, lol.
Definitely significantly reduces the issues.
It drives me insane whenever we bungle a trash pull and start wiping and i release only to cause a second wipe.
There are occasions where it has saved time post wipe because we were ready for them, but those are less often.
It really is infuriating. Both Nerub dungeons has the spawn right at the entrance. There is a shortcut but you can’t use it in combat and you can’t mount up. So there’s no way of reaching your group and try to prevent them from dying all together. I think you could maybe go outside and back in? Haven’t tried that.
But in those dungeons, if the group does wipe the mobs will run all the way to the entrance, pulling more mobs along the way. It sucks.
This, I love that Weak Aura… Great for raids too if a healer has a rez to mass rez everyone so I don’t immediately click release.
