My character ‘Arathea’ been stuck in the air for the last 4 days, I’ve put in multiple stuck character requests which every time I do says I should hear back in approximately 5 minutes…4 days later still 0 response at all and my character is still stuck
There are a couple things to try that may fix this issue, listed here. The third thing is using the stuck character service, which it sounds like you already have. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/10581
If the stuck character self-service doesn’t work, you should be able to go back into the service and try to move the character again, and while it is on cooldown it will prompt you to submit a ticket. Here is a direct link for doing that https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/1369/ticket
once you’ve submitted a ticket you’ll need to wait for a gm to help you. I don’t know the current wait times but i think the longest tickets are taking maybe 8-10 days, usually stuck characters are prioritized and significantly shorter.
I have a ticket open for 3 days now. I have not heard anything from Blizzard support. I assumed the weekly server reset would fix the issue but that did not.
I have personally tried all of the following:
1-Resetting the UI
2-Scanning and Repairing the WoW client
3-Un-install the game and re-install the game
4-Use the self-service option to move your character (x3).
At this point Blizzard has turned into a scam imo. Imagine paying for internet/electricity and not having it for 3 days. From the looks of things I am not the only one on these forms that are experiencing this same exact issue.
tickets are running a bit longer than usual still. they ordinarily can handle all tickets within a day or two and stuck characters within hours, but ticket times are still inflated from the mess that they were a month or two ago. Just make sure that your ticket was opened under the right category and not under “not listed here” or something as those tickets receive the lowest priority.
To be clear - blizzard promises you access to the game in exchange for your subscription, not access to a particular character. people do pay for internet and electricity that goes out for 3 days. my power was just out for 3 days during the recent cold snap. fortunately, this is just a game. while they might not, billing will sometimes offer you a few days of free game time if you ask.
Brother I don’t know why you’re trying to downplay the fact that people aren’t receiving any support while not being able to play their characters when blizzard is worth 60 BILLION dollars, it’s absolutely silly
And yes as I clearly said above, I’ve put in multiple stuck character requests, have notified blizzard multiple times. Still absolutely nothing
The forum post was the last resort to finally get someone to do something instead of just telling me to do the exact same thing over and over again with no difference in outcome
Thank you for the direct link Tofflemire, I looked several times to find this option. I could not find it when I was looking originally.
I have opened a new ticket under this category. We will see how long this one takes.
I haven’t downplayed anything arathea. I’m explaining the best way for you to get help, for you and for others who may come across this thread. Your or my level of anger about ticket times isn’t going to help get your problem fixed.
If you’ve submitted a ticket under the correct category, the one I posted, and you got a ticket ID and it’s showing up as awaiting an answer in your ticket history, then there’s nothing more you can do but wait. There’s no need to be doing anything over and over - after the stuck character service does not work, submit one ticket, the end.
“To be clear - blizzard promises you access to the game in exchange for your subscription, not access to a particular character. people do pay for internet and electricity that goes out for 3 days. my power was just out for 3 days during the recent cold snap. fortunately, this is just a game”
That is absolutely downplaying it and not constructive in any manner
I guess you can call it what you want. They were saying that it feels like they’re being scammed - it is relevant to say that blizzard does not guarantee access to specific characters. Or specific servers for that matter. I’m not saying that is good or bad - that is what you agree to in order to play. The electricity - yea, I was trying to get some perspective here - this isn’t a 3 day ER wait time, it’s a 3 day wait to play a video game character. They aren’t the same. Usually stuck characters are handled within a few hours, but ticket times have been bad lately. Even so I actually don’t think they’re even taking 3 days if a ticket is correctly submitted, which is why I kept asking if you had done that, because it wasn’t clear why it was taking so long if you have.
It is completely constructive.
A) You pay for access to the game, not a specific character or server or what have you. We’ve all agreed to this. We’re bound to these rules despite how we “think it should be.” We all know that Blizzard makes 385 bazillion dollars and yet we all still accept the agreement.
B) Given the truth of A, above, any demands for a specific character to work are invalid, any claims of “scams” or similar due to not being able to access a particular character or server or feature are invalid.
You can ask politely and wait as long as is needed for a fix to come. That’s it and that’s all. Tantrums do nothing. Threats do nothing. Arguing with other posters does nothing.
A → B → Reality. Sorry.
Maybe the internet/electricity was a bad analogy. Let me try to give you another analogy that is a little more inline with our situation here.
Let’s say you pay for a streaming service to watch your favorite show. You cannot wait to turn it on. You pay for it, you are ready to login to start watching. However, as you click on this favorite show of yours, it throws an error every time you proceed to start it.
You start debugging and reading on the internet to see if others have this issue. You do everything that is suggested to you to ensure the problem is not happening on your side. You start thinking about it, and begin to realize that all the shows on this service are available except for this particular one that you like.
You say to yourself, no problem, I can contact the provider because I am paying for this service after all. Then you find out it is almost impossible to contact them.
Please tell me, how would you feel in this situation?
Honestly. For real.
If I tried to stream something on Netflix or wherever and a single show wasn’t working, but I could access everything else? I’d try later.
So, let’s say three days pass or however long for argument’s sake, and that particular show wasn’t working, still. And I could not contact anyone for help (which isn’t true here at all, but again, for argument’s sake…). Then I ask myself this:
Am I really subbing to Netflix (read: subbing to WoW) just for this one show (read: character)?
EZPZ. If yes, then cancel service. If no, then forget about the show and move on.
Again this is all moot, anyway. There is a way to contact Blizzard for help. And when they send that initial “search the internet and 3rd party sites,” triage response, then you re-open the ticket and ask for more help.
And if the ticket doesn’t have an option to re-open, then you open a new one and reference the original ticket number.
I don’t really have any issue with the comparison Fears - I wasn’t trying to belabor the issue, I get that you’re frustrated you can’t use something you are paying for and tickets are taking a long time. My initial response was meant as a slight push back, I only revisited it because of the other response. Hopefully using the new category gets you fixed up quickly.
This only gets better, after using the direct link you provided, this is my result:
"World of Warcraft Ticket Number: US89413xxx Status: Merged Last Update: 44 minutes ago.
This ticket was marked as Resolved."
Character in question is still getting disconnects on login.
Talk about running a company by clowns /rolls eyes.
I feel your pain. I have not been able to play ANY of my characters for 2 weeks. CS is a joke, Tech help is a joke. Forums have become a joke. Tickets are a laughing joke these days.
That’s fine fears - if you had a prior ticket open about the same issue they will often merge them. It should still end up in the right place.
How many tickets have you opened for this issue? because that is also adding to the delays.
