Hey all quick question. Just bought a brand new computer last week that came with a AMD Radeon 580x. I am currently running wow at the highest graphic settings and a consistent 60fps. It doesn’t matter what I do or where I am at in game it stays at 60. Tried adjust the FPS cap settings and will just stay at 60. I not complaining or anything cause I am very happy with how the game is running I’m just wondering If I can get more out of the game with the graphics card I have.
I had to unlock the fps cap, which it looks like you did, but also had to disable (iirc) Vsync.
Now back up to my normal rates.
I run with a GTX 1650 super with i7 5820, 16 gig ram, ssd drive. On beta I would dip below 60FPS but on live I seem to roam between 70 and 100ish.
Disable vsync. It’s enabled by default and locks your fps equivalent to the refresh rate of your monitor.
(this may cause tearing)
What do you mean by tearing?
As in it will look like the screen kinda goes uneven in some places, similar to a tear. Its not dangerous it just bothers some people, most never notice.
Oh gotcha ok. Yea if I notice it I’ll just change it back. Like I said I’m not mad about how my game is running just seeing if I can get more performance without sacrificing quality.
I’ve turned off my vsync and adjusted my caps as well and still I am stuck at 60 or less in some instances when I was getting well over that prior

Just un check the box that says limit fps to monitor refresh speed…
that’s called vsync. They said they did that.
They actually have a box in settings now that says that
No they dont, it says it when you hover over the vertical sync options.
You may be confusing it with “Max Foreground FPS”
Meh, I un that box i was locked at 60 fps now I have 130 something but ok
Well I am telling you that option is called Vertical Sync. “Synchronizes your ramerate to that of your monitors refresh rate”
Literally looking at it in game.
Ok
Have a nice night
You too
I’ve been cruising through the forums lately reading different topics, and I just gotta say. I see you everywhere, and I’ve never seen you not arguing with somebody.
Just an observation. I’ll run along now before I get you going myself.
Sitting with the same issue. I was wondering what happened.
I’ll have to check out my settings later today.
I’ll check this out too.
Thanks all!
How much hertz does your monitor refresh at?
