i have tried it atleast 3 or 4 times in upper and lower. maybe i am just bad at my class but i cannot finish the final bosses and i have tried it in arms and fury both times not being able to finish it at all. any tips or helpful comments appreciated.
Better than me. I’m partially a gear issue, but can’t get past 2 solo (Arms/Necro). I didn’t pick the meta covenant and went with the theme I liked. Regretting listening to that advice now…
im seeing alot of people be able to complete it at lower ilvls honestly, a fury warrior in my guild did lower level 3 but didnt say if he had help or not. funny cause arms im pulling decent dps and i switch to fury i can barely pull 1.6k
I noticed Torghast is much easier as Prot, that’s how I cleared the level 3s
Hey buddy
I’m sorry you’ve been struggle with torghast.
When it comes to torghast a couple factors come into play. Could be that you need to focus certain targets, interrupt certain spells., it could just be down to luck with anima powers.
. Warriors, especially arms can really struggle if they run out of steam with cool downs and such. If you get lucky with anima powers you might find yourself in the clear but I also found rank 3 floors to be a stiff challenge considering the current gearing climate.
My recommendation for the rank 3 floors is to get a group going. You can be a decent frontline even as arms and fury. Just grab a couple buddies, or randoms even, and you’ll fly through it.
Once we get some decent gear, better secondary stat spread you’ll find soloing it way more manageable.
I wouldn’t fret bout your pick. A lot of people have been theorizing that either it’s going to get buffed or it will be more valuable as the expansion gets on and gear gets better.
Stick with it. It’s only week one. Solo can be tough, I recommend a group for now.
I managed to finish both as fury at around 155 ilvl. I think making the right upgrade choices makes a big difference. If you can get the extended enraged regen it helps a lot. Also theres a 30% damage potion and the 1.5 minute no rage cost from the seller sometimes. If you can combo these on the last boss its super easy.
Oddly enough, I went back to soulforges for the legendady at 179 ilvl and it felt harder. So im not sure if it scales or if it was me.
I managed to solo both tier 3 wings going with arms. If you have condemn I strongly suggest you pick the anima powers that buff its damage output and damage mitigation, as well as the one that gives it a little knockdown effect. Increased rage regeneration is also pretty much mandatory.
The final bosses were pretty tough tho and I only survived because of second wind plus anima power that gives me 60% increased move speed.
When my life was low I would use intimidating shout then leap as far as I could and move fast around the edges to keep away from the boss and let second wind do it’s job.
Another thing to keep in mind is to always use ignore pain and if you can grab a few anima powers to buff it up.
Second Wind is only useful in the Upper Reaches, the level 3 of the Soulforges gives you a permanent debuff that damages you every 5 sec thus making SW useless. I had the luck to find an anima power that healed me every 5 secs pretty much nullifying the debuff effect! Another thing is to always kill the rare mobs that occasionally spawns. They give rare to epic anima powers. When the Runecarver say something like “you are being hunted” then you’ll know there is a rare mob in the floor you’re in.
Hope that helps!
Small words of advice. Make this macro
#showtooltip
/cast Overpower
/cast Ignore Pain
Take the Ignore Pain grants a shield equal to 10% of your max hp whenever you can, and buy it off the anima vendor. You’ll have a 7.5k-10k shield on just about all the time without even having to think. Makes the whole damn thing a breeze.
Was able to clear lower after multiple attempts. Upper level though, I got smoked. A friend came and helped me clear it.
Just want to point something out, not sure if it applies to you. The couple of times I attempted Upper Reaches (Layer 3) I got the Gargoyle boss at the end. He has a stacking buff that reduces damage taken, up to 25%. It makes it very hard to kill him before his stacking damage buff gets high enough to kill you.
I fixed this by grouping with someone that had a remove magic function (In my case a priest, but I believe shamans have it too). That might help you.
This combo is also incredibly powerful on fury. The condemn damage absorb does not cleave with whirlwind but the knockdown does.
One of my level 2s i got 2 of the condemn damage / absorb and the kockdown, and a few of the recklessness extenders (was 30+ seconds lmao). Then on the final vendor there was the no rage cost power… My hp bar didnt even move on the final boss.
I failed at both 3s on the final bosses but im pretty sure i can get them if i choose better with my powers. The whirlwind heal + whirlwind damage and whirlwind proc on rampage sounds hilarious, and it is pretty damn hilarious to full heal off breaking jars but its a trap. You need to focus on things that help you kill or survive the bosses. AoE stuff is nice for killing trash but completely worthless on the one thing that matters.
I am wondering to myself how many players might not be using victory rush liberally.
I have a feeling that is some peoples problems. All you need to do in packs is keep getting at least 1 mob killed and victory rush over and over.
On the final boss I really don’t know what people are struggling with. I noticed he had more HP and channeled something but tbh I really don’t even remember any mechanics from him as he wasn’t really special to me. I just made sure to use ignore pain when it was up. Alternate interrupt and stun. I did it as arms since I did the lower levels as fury although I think it would have been easier as fury because it’s better at soloing in most cases.
I feel that is one of the main reasons there are so many mawrats about. Just to accommodate a victory rush target.
That and for fun Maw Rat builds. Did a run were I got the power that increases your health when you kill a rat, then the power that instantly kills rats when you Charge or Leap them. Was a fun run.
I found Torghast extremely easy as Fury. Just have to use abilities such as ignore pain every time you can and try and get the power that gives it a 20% chance to proc enraged regeneration. Increased whirlwind damage and healing also helps a lot. Also another good method I found was to get the power that gives you Phantasma everytime you use Victory rush, use it on big mobs after you’ve whirlwinded and farm some Phantasma, then buy everything from the vendor
So I did the Patrician boss with ilvl 153 I made sure to interrupt his plague cast and try to always take the maxium value of ignore pain and other defensive, other thing I did “didn worked” was saving all slam damage + stack for the boss I end up with a 40k damaging slam when I arrived at the boss but I failed i died to the boss. I killed him with my last life just by playing smart with the defensives and bursting him in the condemn phase
i manage to oneshot it!, you know the stacking slam? pick that everytime and anything that is damage! i was at 155ilvl at the time
It was a joke as prot, a guildy said that healers and tanks have easier Torghast (no idea why for tanks) with less mob health and damage.
I never had a moment where I felt threatened clearing both wings of Torghast at level 3.
Big winner for me was the anima power that lets you get 5 anima per Victory Rush. Every time I went to the vendor, I had at least 500 anima power, sometimes 900+ to spend.
I really recommend just slapping on a shield just to run each wing this week.
Torghast is pure RNG.
1st run Upper Layer 3 I couldn’t get the boss below 25% before dying. Bad RNG and the boss I got was overtuned according to Wowhead comments. Failed run.
2nd run Upper Layer 3 I got a different boss and killed the boss in about 45 seconds and literally without dropping me below 100% HP. It never even broke through my Ignore Pain shield.
Same gear both runs.
Torghast, Tower of the RNG.
