Struggling with Niffen rep

The first couple of weeks i saved up those big 1k-2k loam rep tokens from doing the quests and everything was great.

The last 2 weeks however ive been scraping by on Niffen Rep.

  1. World Quests int he caverns are giving 25-30 per quest
  2. Im not getting any from Rares or bosses.
  3. Big events, like the researchers, usually get around 150-175, IF I also get awarded one of the small niffen tokens
  4. Sniffsneeking usually only grants 25 if i get awarded a token

Various posts and sites have suggested you should get points from rares, sniffsneeking and other events which I do not seem to be.

Last week I didnt even complete the ally quest as I only accumulated 1200 Rep.

What am I missing?

I’ve usually gotten 200~400 per sniffenseeking dig. Are you ignoring the ā€˜special’ dirt mounds that spawn the treasurewhiskers?

I get 1000 rep every time i do the Researchers under fire per week. I think i get that because my main is above 12 renown rep with the moles. I also get more than 25 rep per WQ, usually around 75-100. Dont know if this helps, but thats what i get every week on ALL my characters.

When it comes to Researchers Under Fire max sure to join a group to better your odds of hitting all 12 tasks. You’ll get 1000 Niffen rep from opening the reward bag.

Don’t forget you can also get Contracts for them, I usually do a lot more heavy lifting of Reps during Tuesdays and/or Darkmoon Faire.

Main thing is doing researchers under fire in a raid, the bigger the better, on tuesday. The epic bag is 1000 of your weekly reputation. Do all digs for the week, you will always get bricks or boulders from one of them to buy the third map, the third dig should give you 250 rep. Do the races and rock climbing quests and any wqs that specifically reward loam rep and you should cap.

Researchers under fire is usually doable up until 8Pm est, thats while finding a group. Its really easy the earlier you do it tbh.

I think the best thing you can do is decide to care less, once you decide you don’t care and just let whatever rep gains come your way via normal day to day activities, the better off you’ll be.

It’s easily the most annoying rep to grind.

Oh I almost forgot this but completing the Zaralek events gives 50 rep each when you open the received bag. I think the events in the Djaradin area give more…

The Where the Zaralek addon will display what events that are available to do.

I just do all the dailys, group quests, digs, researchers gives like 750 rep, rep quest in the city gives 250 rep for 5 heroics, plus 415 gear… im like 300 rep away from renown 20

I noticed that too…it’s driving me crazy…I just want to finish it…please…I’m 5 levels away…and I’m still working on tuskar and maruuk…I’m done with valdraxcan an dragonscale.

There’s usually a quest line that gives an item for 1.5 ish rep. Outside of that, maps go pretty far. You get plenty of barter rocks for maps. Even after the weekly the Researchers event gives a decent chunk.

Your estimates on what gives how much rep is way too low. WQs give 75 rep. The token thing you get gives 200. I just hit renown 20 yesterday with a little extra push at the end. It’s not that bad.

Researchers Under Fire typically awards me 1,000 rep; at least 500 if I join and there’s only like 5-10 min left on the current event.

I typically manage to reach 1500 in a single day, if I catch Researcher’s event and do the elite world quests in the NW part of the map with all the nasty Zaqil elites roaming in packs up there. Some alts have to get to 1500 over two days, but that’s the minority of cases.

I also try to get in all the little ā€œgolden hornā€ events as they’re typically pretty easy and give like 50 rep each. I prioritize those over regular/elite world quests in the zone as those events are time-limited and if you do other stuff they can end before you get to them. Also be sure to open the packs you get because the blue ones are awarding me rep when I open them (purple don’t as the rep seems baked into the event).

I have been slugging at this since the beginning. Almost at 20 level now. Just weekly quests and the special events that happen around the caverns. It is slow but if you keep at it, it will happen eventually.

Right there. Join a group. Get 1k. And buy a contract.

After 2 sniffen dig and researcher under fire, I generally only have 1-2 dragonriding race and I’m done. Make sure you completely scrub the cave before leaving and try to do the event early in the week so there’s more people participating and you get a better tier reward.

I never saw any points rewarded for doing rares on my end.

I also feel like I’m doing something wrong earning the rep points.

I feel I should be at 20 renown by now since I’ve been at it for a month.

I have no idea how to start those.

In Loam, near the main building there is a fishing pond. By that pond is a Niffen called Mirit I think. You get at least one dig a week and can find more digs.

Make sure you have at least done the main questline to get there and around there. Could be some chain got missed because there is a quest to ā€˜familiarize’ yourself with the area and that gives you the leads to the quests and rep and Mirit digs.
