I’ve played all 3 but I can’t decide on which is the strongest. I’m no min/max kind of person so using sim and all that other stuff is of no interest to me.
I am basically just doing Island expeditions, world quests, etc, for Proudmoore to unlock KT. Which is why I am just experimenting to find the best AOE spec in terms of that.
What spec would you use for top notch AOE?
3 types
BM -Beast cleave
Marks - requires the Azerite trait where if 3 or more targets hit by multishot, it shoots another volley. Great for farming old content
Survival - the bombs and AE melee.
So I think it comes down to which would be more fun for you. I like Marks for farming, and Survival for getting down in the trenches with my pet. BM is the more boring one in my opinion.
BM to me is very decent. I have never been outdps’d in AoE by MM or SV of my ilevel.
You have to have Abilities and Traits supporting AoE. Rapid Reload is the AoE trait. The more the better but… it would gimp your Single Target DPS since Rapid Reload has zero value on Single Target DPS.
But you can switch gear in Raids (not on Mythic +). 2x Rapid Reload on Mythic +10’s Reaping is awesome as if you are challenging your Demon Hunters.

Pure consistent solid dps. Also the spec is the same for single target, only difference is you would run 1x rapid reload and then run 2 Primal Instincts.
