Players engaged in combat within zones that are 10 or greater levels below the player, will now take 100% increased damage per every level from guards.
Players who kill 5+ players who are green or Grey in level will now have a bounty placed from the defending faction.
When a player has a bounty placed from a faction, Elite guards will paradrop into a zone. These elite guards have 100 million HP and deal 10 to 15% of enemy players’ health in damage.
Elite guards are immune to snares, slows and stuns. Run.
With how zones scale, the dream is they make it so that a lvl 120 scales down to the zone they’re in, then they suddenly aren’t able to run around with 10 guards on them and using 1 attack to kill every NPC near them.
Was recently leveling a Blood DK in Hellfire peninsula with War Mode enabled. Have to be careful when getting near honor hold as the Horde tend to just cosntantly ransack the place and the only hope to stop it is if more 120’s from the alliance show up to kick them out.
Which has its own appeal I guess but considering the Horde can just one shot the guards it really breaks the feeling of the place being a “hold” of any kind.
I would not be entirely against the guards in places like honor hold being 120 and on level with the current expansion. At least for those who ARE 120. Why not have the guards scale to the level of the characters just like regular mobs do?
All zones have guards that spawn that are max level to the current expansion. They just suck, even in non-war mode. They have 65k hp, which given current damage is approximately 1.5 hits.
Do they? Are you sure? Because last I checked they max out for the expansion they come from. At least in honor hold (looking at them right now) they are maxed out at 68.
