I was wondering if when the additional invites/access goes out for the Stress Tests starting next week, will those players continue to have access to the beta after the test or will they be restricted to just the few days for the test? Blue post would be awesome.
I’m sure they’ll post more details, but the typical method for these sorts of tests is to only give access on the 2 day period. Otherwise the server would stay stressed constantly after that point.
Unless they’re trying to ratchet up the pressure and stay there after each stress test, it’ll only be for the 2 days.
The true stress test is waiting for the Beta Invite.
I could see them doing that though, to test layering throughout the week, continuing to ramp up invites toward the second stress test, then the third, but that’s probably just my hope speaking lol.
True, but layering is designed to test a No to Go scenario so better to throw as many as possible at one point.
Well I am failing that horrendously.
I must have nerves of steel than. Since im just sitting back sipping coffee. No stress at all.
I’m not aware of any beta invites that we’re revoked after a stress test. When did that happen in Wow history ?
They haven’t done WoW stress tests in more than a decade AFAIK. I was talking about most game developers.
So what you said has no relevance to WoW. Basically, you are stirring people up for nothing.
Please provide an example of a WoW Stress test besides the one in early November 2004, where everyone lost access after the test (for 2 days). Gaming industry norms are what we fall back on when there are no examples for the specific company, because even Blizzard uses the terms in a standard way.
Pretty much this.
The stress test will only be accessible during the stress test. Or a specific PTR server.
After the stress test is over the stress test server(s) will be taken offline.
It’s very possible people only get invited on those days. There’s no reason getting upset about it till we know for sure.
