Hey all, i’m kinda in a flux on what I want to take as my main into shadowlands, i’m between 3 classes and I enjoy all of them, however one is clearly the “strongest” Choice, one I like the aesthetic the most, and the last has the edge on gameplay.
When it comes to you picking your class whats your ‘priority’ on these categories? Im hoping hearing how you all picked your classes/why you love them will help me decide!
How fun a class is to play is always my main priority.

I don’t really know at this point. Condemn is a super fun ability for Warriors, but I don’t like Revendreth or the Venthyr.
I would ideally want to go Bastion, but I may have to take Venthyr for the first patch of SL, as I would rather be a help to the groups I’m in.
Mm I’d personally go gameplay > aesthetic > strength
Being fun to play matters most. Back in MoP I was deciding between maining a monk or a rogue, both strong favorites. But monk won out on gameplay and to this day it’s still fun to me! Plus I like the aesthetics too.
Looks are great, but if you don’t enjoy the playstyle then you probably won’t like using them in the first place. Strength comes and goes. All classes are viable in most content and buffs and nerfs happen constantly. It also depends on your own skill and gear and all that. So kind of unreliable.
Mine is personally Gameplay > Strength > Aesthetic.
I want to play a strong class, if and only if I find it enjoyable. I care about aesthetics, but for me personally those aesthetics can never mask bad gameplay.
Everyone is different and you just have to find your priorities and pick around that.
I’ve rolled dice for all my alts and have a tentative spreadsheet of where everyone’s going.
I was going to make all the choices by RP or wait until I played through, but after starting my research and planning, I found it ended up making bland and cliche choices, so instead I’ve decided to take the RNG route and then rationalize the RP of why the characters will each be drawn/dragged in those directions and play whatever abilities I find in the boxes.
I think gameplay is most important. Aesthetic and strength comes down to the kind of player you are. Do you do high content, is topping the charts important to you, or do you like to match the theme of the expac.
Gameplay is most important because the other two revolve around you enjoying the game imo
