Streaming question

I don’t mind it, but do people think it takes away from the original classic wow feel by it happening? I could definitely see the argument that vanilla wow was in an era that streaming wasn’t like it is now. Could/should blizzard ban people from streaming classic content?

While we want a game from 2004, it is 2019. Trying to ban streamers will be a nightmare as much as the purists rage about their existence.

While streamers persay didn’t exist back in classic days, YouTube did exist and people made videos about Vanilla back in the day. Heck Nihilum (or whatever the guild’s name was back in those days) made tons of money putting world first videos on youtube back then. The only difference to me between a youtube video maker and a streamer, is that I can actually stream snipe a streamer on a PVP server and camp them.

I actually enjoy the concept of streaming. I watch a lot of esports streams and stuff like that, mostly because I can appreciate people who are far better than me showing what is possible within a game and giving me something to strive for. But regular streamers who are “professional gamers” do a lot of good as well because they add to communities.

No to both questions, as much as I find them annoying. You most likely won’t have to deal with them at all unless you find yourself in a guild with one.

No, it’s one line in ToS.

Most of them don’t even report bugs… Even in beta…

ToS binding-ness legal arguments aside, it will be a PR Nightmare. Imagine being the only major game that bans streaming in 2019. Its not just an attack against streamers, its an attack against Twitch which is one of their major sponsors for retail Arena and Mythic events.

I think once we get out of this frustrating phase classic streamers might not be looked down upon so much in this community.
They aren’t as bad as they are percieved to be imo. and like kaim said, if you dont like them avoid them. Its a big world out there in azeroth.

You got it wrong.

It’s a defense against people who WILL (It’s not a maybe, it’s a guaranteed fact) destroy classic wow

Facts are provable. This is your opinion. We all have them. Sometimes they stink or need a bit of cleaning up.

Show me on the doll where the bad streamer touched you…seriously dude, whatever war you have against streamers, they don’t care (blizzard nor the streamers do)

Nothing will “destroy” classic WoW except people stop playing because they do all the content or decide they don’t want to play anymore…

This is not a fact, you will most likely not even notice streamers unless you’re actively seeking them out. Just like when you played in Vanilla and probably didn’t once see at least half the people in your faction on your server.

Or people constantly badmouthing it and turning others away.

Fact 1 : Streamers are known to abuse the system (last example : xp pots, but there are more).

Fact 2: Streamers will be able to call their army to report a player for any reason they deem “sufficient” and get this person instantly banned. So based on fact 1, they WILL do it (Asmo told he won’t, but he will)

Fact 3 : ANY server even will be won by biggest streaming. AQ mount ? Forget, even if you support a biggest (non streamer) guild on server, it will not be enough. So Why bother (One of the BEST content of vanilla already destroyed). This fact is actually confirmed by Asmongoo. I quote “This is a guaranty that I’ll get AQ mount. No questions”

Fact 4 : They have a possibility de disrupt the whole server game play for prolonged periods of time. And they will do it, because it’s “fun” for them and their minions.

Edit
Ok, at least ONE in their favor :

Fact 5 : Streamer can also organize excellent event for anyone to join (Ex : Kara crypt exploration)

Edit 2
Ah yeah, fact 6 : #nochanges. We haven’t streams back in a day

They are free to record videos and post them of cause, but the video should absolutely have fraps watermark.

Those aren’t facts, those are hypotheticals and generalizations. Even if they were factual, all of that was possible with the big WoW Youtubers/WoWcinema guys back in vanilla.

Rare and astronomical odds unless you’re specifically scoping them out and trying to be there.

No they are not.

Did streamers use xp pot exploit ? They absolutelly did.

Did we have a streamer call his army to “help him in PvP” ? Yep, we did

Fact 3 : self-explained.

Fact 4 : Yes, a little generalization

Banning Classic streaming would be a mistake on just about every level, that said, I’m hopeful that I find out what server’s the streamers are going to play on so that I can avoid them at all costs.

I don’t have a problem with streamers per se, don’t watch them and don’t really care. However, the slavish, cult-like followers who are willing to do anything for their master’s favor is something I do want to avoid.

I agree.

The best solution is to have 3 dedicated servers for streamers and thier armies :

  • PvP
  • PVE
  • RP-PVE

I have no doubt streamers did this, but so did many other people who aren’t streamers.

Really no different than asking your guild for help IMO.

The hell are you talking about? Your irrational fears don’t equate to an absolute fact that this will happen. Regardless how you feel, the odds are extremely minimal. Same layer, same spot, same time? Nah dude.
