The first time I tuned into asmongold wasn’t because I said “oh this guy has a high view count”
It was because I heard someone that hated him talking about him on the forums for the 10th time and I decided to check it out for myself. His bulk of fame is given by his haters
Frankly you don’t understand how Twitch works at all… First thing thats how Streamers make their living, from Subscriptions, just like how you’d subscribe to cable. I follow a lot of people on Twitter who cut their cable frankly because there isn’t anything worth watching on TV and just watch Twitch. Asmongold isn’t exploiting anyone. His fanboys are just rapid and will give them anything. Thats how him and his community have been since day one. Thats the community hes built.
Clearly Twitch isn’t your thing, and yeah I get that. Seems its not the average forumgoers thing either. But that doesn’t give the excuse to dump BS on someones career, regardless if that Streamer is likable. It’s what they love doing. It’s what the majority of Twitch streamers love doing, aka their hobby and get supported for it. As I said, quit being a hypocrite and stereotypical of how people make money and what enjoy doing, hence in this case, streaming.
