Yeah, I mean the last time I did a WoW token it took like 7 hours to sell on the AH. I might be wrong, its been a long while.
For all the people who think I actually want WoW tokens…
I don’t even like WoW Tokens. I was using it as a point of whats the difference…
I’m sorry guys, Blizzard does not enforce it, There will be gold buying and selling and bans won’t happen…Not when BlizzBots and BlizzKnights defend them whenever pointed out…
If WoW tokens were in Classic I probably wouldn’t play it more than 2-3 months. Please do not feed the trolls in these topics and let them die so Blizzard don’t even see them.
WoW Tokens exist BECAUSE 3rd party sites were selling gold.
Blizzard implemented it so people could buy gold through a more trusted and secure method AND allowed you to buy game time with just in game gold.
Blizzard also made gold practically worthless in game in Modern WoW, and it pretty much functions as an alternative to paying cash for game time now.
In Classic, gold is needed for a ton of stuff and is much harder to accumulate. People will buy gold through 3rd party sites. Not much you can do about it except WoW Tokens to keep it safer and more secure for players.
You’re missing the point. Both parties have to perform actions in the game to be beneficial for the economy.
Buying a token and selling it to make gold adds nothing of value to the economy unlike farming reagents to sell which has a tangible benefit of someone being able to use those reagents.
Someone has to make the gold either way, but on the token transaction value is lost.
I understand. But, So long as an Auction House and trading exists in WoW, gold will have real world value as well as in game value.
Blizz would have to nuke the economy in the game to get rid of gold buying and selling. Gold would have to become bound to the players individually. You’d lose a major aspect of the game.
You can’t, i think, otherwise people would not continue to sell gold for money as they still do today. Just search for sites doing that.
The big difference is that now it is much harder for them to hack people’s account and steal gold. Instead you now see a lot of farmers on trial characters farming herbs and ore. I saw a lot of them in Pandaria and Hyjal while i was farming there recently.
wowtokens in classic would impact AH,economy, gameplay(buying gear, spells, professsions by buying materials or already made items),people would buy raids and its gear (via loot trade way more often),plus it would promote laziness thus people that would buy gold thru wowtokens could become sort of casuals cause they would be skipping all or most of the things ive mentioned )
