If these big streamers are just going to get all their mount gold, gear, and mats from their viewers, what is the problem with offering people a Token to buy gold with? Gold selling is for sure going to be a thing, and unless it is harshly enforced (Perm bans) then I don’t see it not being a major thing.

The problem is that if the community pools money and wastes it on a streamer, the community had to work the market, feeding it gold/time/engagement and that gold is then LOST from those players when it is given away.
Buying gold is manufacturing it out of thin air. No market exchange occurs. This will have a drastic impact on the economy.

It’s not going to be a major thing but you’re right it will be there. Farmers are going to have to farm it all though the same way we will. You basically have to give your account away for it to be stolen nowadays so that gold isn’t being passed around willy nilly like in the old days.

You could buy token at level 1 and have enough gold to buy all spells and all vendor armor/weapons, and even buying gear off AH, it’s massive pay2win, no way no.
If you wanna buy gold illegally, you’ll get either scammed or banned.

It doesn’t matter how they work. It doesn’t matter if it’s a redistribution of wealth. All that matters is that they make the game pay to win and provide an avenue for people to buy gold leading more people to buy gold than would if it were not available via blizzard exchange.

WoW Tokens can come as long as we offer a complete cash shop with character boosts and gear. If we’re going to ruin Classic, let’s do it all the way.

They aren’t receiving it out of thin air by paying, their viewers gift them, just like your girlfriend/boyfriend could gift you gold, it’s different than being able to straight out buy gold.
