Streamer type microphone?

Hi there. What’s a good microphone that I can set on my desk and can speak too quite easily and have it not pick up too much background sounds except my voice?

I guess sort of what the streamers do where it’s on the desk or something and they can freely talk /raid / do whatever while not worrying about the mic or it sounded too distorted or far away?

I guess it’s a condenser type mic? Any suggestions ? I want to raid and do that and be a bit lazy and might do some unrelated youtube content at some point.

You want a Cardioid or super-cardioid mic… these pick up only sound from the front, and not from the sides or back of the mic. Reducing background noise. It can be condenser or dynamic.

You will not want it sitting on your desk, you will need a mic boom arm, so the mic can be close to the source, your mouth. Depending on the mic and settings, it should be anywhere from 2 inches to 8 inches from your mouth. You may want to consider a pop screen or foam windscreen muff.
