Ever since the Shadowlands prepatch I’ve been getting this error. Seemingly at random, but mainly when trying to load in somewhere there’s a 70% chance that I’ll get this error, and the launcher will force me to repair and update the game. I have to do this like 3-4 times a day. I know there have been various other threads about this, but nothing on the main page and the devs/mods that responded to those went silent.
Seems to happen the most when loading into a Battleground, and more often then not it’s the one involving the Airships and the Azerite nodes the two teams have to collect/fight over. I forget the name of it. But god is this issue irritating as all hell. I was hoping the extended maintenance the other day was to fix this issue, but apparently not.
Hey there Somethíng,
Thank you for reaching out with those details! This specific error indicates that something prevented you from connecting to that specific zone/instance – usually a network problem. Be sure to try the steps listed on this page to narrow down what’s causing it, and hopefully solve it.
If the error persists, we’ll want to have you run a ‘WinMTR’ network test while the problem occurs in-game so that we can further investigate potential network-related issues between your computer and the game server. Here are the instructions:
- Download the tool from this page
- Enter the game IP into the “host” field. The IP address for our games are listed on the WinMTR instructions page
- Start the test and play the game for at least 15 minutes. Ensure the problem happens while the WinMTR tool is running.
- After recording the problem data, click “export text” and save the WinMTR file in an easy to find location.
- Once you have that made, open the file. You’ll need to copy and paste the contents of the Text document into the post, and put four Tilde (~) marks above the WinMTR. It’ll look like this:
WinMTR goes here
If you have issues pasting here, please use Pastebin and post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).
I don’t need to run some weird program to know it’s an issue with your guys’ game. Ever since the pre-patch launched there have been a buttload of posts and replies on these forums about this issue. And the problem only seems to be getting worse as the days/weeks go on. I can’t even log onto my Death Knight now because of the issue. I can log onto all of my other characters, but when I go to get onto my level 46 Death Knight who’s parked in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms I get booted out 75% of the way through the loading-in screen with “A Streamer Error Has Occurred.” and I am forced to scan/repair/update my client, because if I don’t and I just hit the play button again on the launcher, it tells me my WoW installation is damaged.
